Yes, it was rather rude of them, but I think I did pretty well with my reply... "if you cannot find something more INTELLIGENT to say than THAT, then it would be advisable for you to SHUT YOUR MOUTH! Because sooner or later it WILL be your problem!"

Yeah it was you Gal that met with these CARB crackhead, yes? It is such a rotten feeling try to discuss a logical and common sense aproach to people that posses no shread of logic or common sense. That bothers me to no end how people that are in charge, can be so clueless to reason.

I am still anxious to see the first trucker loose their little poodle to heat exhustion in a hot truck cuz the driver could not afford a means to care for it properly, ie running his A/C, whilst follow the law. Peta freakazoids will have CARB in court. It's the ultimate clash of 2 extreemist radical factons of the far left. Now that in todays world with animal life held in higher value than human life, the lawsuit is a dead nuts stone cold lock to happen.

No, actually what will happen is PETA will come down on the evil trucker for having a dog in his truck. Half of the PETA Freakos are probably members of CARB. The libs will get a free pass, and blame everything on the trucker who has to deal with the stupid laws.:biggrin_25512:But I'll bet they'll be expecting toilet paper and Campbells soup at the local grocery store.

They already come down on truckers for having pets in the trucks... nothing new there.. let's just see what happens though when two liberal organizations come down on each other... you gotta admit that might be fun to watch!

I'm out sick today, so I'll be brief:

    1) I've overnighted in California three times since the first of the year and my observation is that this silly law is not being enforced. I usually only park in truckstops and never in rest areas though. Apparently the CHP has better things to do than cruise around looking for idling trucks. Also, this may turn out to be a "complaint based" enforcement law.

1a) I think that a driver who uses his head about where and when to idle the engine is unlikely to encounter any problems. I believe that it's been inconsiderate #######es who claim that they're too cold at 50 degrees and too hot (obesity can cause this) at 80 degrees, who then run the engines all night to stay comfortable who got us into this mess in the first place. Remember, trucking has always been a tough job made for tough people.

    2) Pets don't belong in the cab of your truck; never have and never will. This is an inherently dangerous work environment and I don't believe that it's fair to an animal to keep it cooped up in the small environs of a truck cab simply to appease our own selfish desire for some companionship. I dearly love my Pomeranian but I would never consider placing him in such a dangerous place as the cab of my truck. If you can't stand being alone I'd suggest finding another line of work.

That's the old pre-2008 law. The new 2008 CARB law does NOT allow for idling because of heat or air conditioning.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Maybe someone has mentioned it and i did not read it.
There is a loophole in the California idle law! If you have a pet, dog, cat, bird, etc. The California idle law does not apply to you! PETA got involved and had the law amended stating that that would be cruelty to animals. Thats a shame, we have to smolder in our cabs, but not Rover! So if you have a pet, no sweat!

DV, they haven't actually succeeded yet. I wish them luck! They are working on it, same as I am working on the whole thing.

I toldja the leftist wack jobs value animal life over human life. I'm not making this up, they do!!

Different rules for different ideology/life forms. It's all depending on weather one falls into -The elitest left, critter, or lowly truck driver.

Say, what's the thermosat set for at the CARB office anyway??

If the laws of Kaliphornia are not proof that they're eating their own young, I don't know what is.

Gal, hey good luck to you on facing the enemy. I, as all here, would love to see you and common sense prevail.
