What is Knight's rider policy? I'm looking to have my wife in the truck with me all the time, year round. Is there any insurance I would have to pay? I checked their website, and they said that they have a rider policy, just didn't give details. Thanks.

If you call them I'm sure they will be more than willing to tell you. I see you are a student so you will not be able to have a rider until you finish your OTR training at the very least.

Call and ask the recruiter or safety director for Knight. In addition you may have to take out passenger insurance for her to ride along full time. It isn t much but its to cover her if something happened while on the truck together. It also depends on how much experience and overall performance as well

Okay. Thanks guys. Ill call them. I know I would have to complete training first. I know Averitt and I think Warner let you take a rider day one out of training, do you know of any other companies that do that?

I ve never seen an Averitt driver with a passenger other than a co worker. Seeing that you have no experience, most companies will make you wait 6 months or longer before you have a passenger. They want to make sure that you know how to drive first before you take a passenger

Yeah, that is understandable. With Averitt I have seen it on their website. So, I am just going by what they say, but have come across a lot of posts where companies will say anything to get you in a truck.

Yes Knight does have a rider policy. Once you finish your training, it is usually 90 days after employment and it costs 20$ a month. Only significant family. Wife, children, mother, father.

    Catfish23 Thanks this.
