Not in all states. California hazmat is good for 5 years. No letter required. TSA notifies DMV directly.

CDLs w/o a Haz-Mat endorsements are normally issued for 5 years and require not retesting.
CDLs w/ a Haz-Mat endorsements are only issued for 2 years, require a new TSA check, and most states require retesting for the Haz-Mat endorsement.
TWIC cards are issued for 5 years or less depending on a persons credential status. The expiration date is right on the face of the card.
"Self Certification" is required of all CDL holder prior to Jan. 31st, 2014.
~ If you drive Interstate you will be required to present a valid DOT Medical Card to your state DMV and every time the medical card expires.
~ If you drive Intrastate you will not be required to carry a DOT Medical Card.Ghost Ryder Thanks this. -
Alright. I might as well invest in some ICBM's too. Is North Korea selling theirs for food still? I can take a trade with my MRE's. lol
