New Driver @ Interstate

sooo not quite sure whats going on over there in planning but almost every week for the past month I've sat for at least 24 hrs waiting either for a load or for an appt that was set quite a bit later than it could have been delivered >.<
this week, I started this morning picking up a load from lebanon, i cut it kinda close, having to call in to get the trailer number to repower, they asked if I was gonna make appt time, i said yes I should be ok. I get to southaven 30 minutes before appt time and no ones here... cause it memorial day so they're closed.... so a 4 hr run and I get to sit here for the rest of the day and try again tomorrow. Last week, I picked up in KY on tuesday, run up to IL that doesnt deliver until thursday... its an 8 hour trip so i sat all day wed. week before I started on a friday, same run as this week, to southaven, dropped trailer friday, no load until sunday. week before that got stuck in IL over the weekend (which is what caused me to take the 2 days off during the week and return on friday). Illinois is like a vortex lol, when i go there im always worried about getting back out.... dunno why it seems to hard.

 

yeah, I always send multiple mac 35s. i ended up holding onto that load till the next day, no one at the office knew what to do, when I showed up there the next morning (today) security was like why didnt you just drop it. the day I waited in IL was for costco, submitted a request for earlier appt but i know that place doesnt really let ya show up earlier than what they scheduled ya for. last time in southaven they just said they didnt have any freight, same with Illinois tho they give the same story about oh dont worry we have solo cup loads out of there every day we can get you home, since it seems like it always happens on a thursday/friday and somehow those loads never show when Im there >.<

 

you can send all the 45's ya want, I still get into areas where they tell me theres no loads. and if theres that much of a difference from sending 2 45's and 3 45's then something is really wrong. i spent most of today playing local driver out of the chicago yard which was pretty much a waste of my day. and the one load that I was actually scheduled for heading to TN I wasnt able to pick up because by the time I ran all over the place and I dropped the last load they gave me in the drop yard there were no emptys, and it took dispatch over an hour to reply to me asking if they wanted me to BT to pickup the preloaded trailer or not, whoever is on duty just said they would find out from the planner. 3 hrs later I still havent gotten an answer yet and my clock is now up
