Typically, hhg miles result in drivers not getting paid for about 6-12 percent of the miles they drive. The unpaid percentage varies, I found it to be worse running eastern states. My first year with Crete in 1994 I drove 150, 000 odometer miles, but got paid for only 138, 000 miles. Hhg miles are a ripoff unless you like driving for free. Crete Carrier now pays practical miles. The odometer reading and my paid mileage are often times close to exact now. Much better. All companies should pay practical at least. Some drivers are paid hub miles. That's even better. Surprised more companies don't pay practical.
