Sorry I haven't written in a while; just busy. Finished Roadmaster last Thursday; took my test with DPS and got my CDL. Roadmaster may a few issues, but as far as the training I needed to get my license; I have it now and am on way to becoming a trucker. I'm at Schneider's orientation now and I am loving every day of it now. I truly believe that who ever you are, that you need to take everything any recruiter/HR person says to you with a big grain of salt and understand that it's always a business! I'm no spring chicken, and have many years in the military and also in the civilian world. If there is anything I have learned is that it's all what you make of it; whether deployed to some remote piece of #### desert, or even San Antonio, TX; you will get out of it what you put into it. I hope this has helped someone, and I wish the best of luck to everyone!!! God bless!

Hey Hercdiver....what kind of job placement services have they provided? What companies are you looking at?
Im thinking of moving to the San Antonio area. -
They have limited job placement services; they will give you application to fill out and do have some local contacts that aren't advertised. You can fill out most of the applications online and get quicker responses; that's how I did it. I am currently in my second week of orientation with Schneider, and really like it. Everything so far sounds great and no promises have been broken. All the trainers are top notch in their field. Do some research here and ask a lot of questions. Best of Luck!

Is Roadmasters worth the $7000 they are asking for and how fast has job placement been with Roadmasters? They have come recommended by quite a few trucking companies HOWEVER signing my name to that amount of debt does leave me a bit concerned.

Don't do it. The amount they charge is not worth the training that you get for it. Their 3-week course will teach you the absolute bare minimum required to get your CDL. You will not have received nearly enough practice in that period of time. They basically charge you an exorbitant amount for the privilege of fast CDL, and then dump you, often unprepared, on the starter companies to do the actual practical training. If you are in a hurry to get your license, do it, but if not, find a more thorough course, such as from a community college (and you will probably pay less money in the end as well). If I could do it over again, I would not have gone to Roadmaster.
