Im losing power in high gears blowing white smoke engine has 974K. 56k after overhaul . took it to inland power group dyno showed 280hp at 26psi ecm is programed to 500hp. They told me my fuel pressure was to high 60psi idle 68psi no load I changed the fuel fitting behind the head and runs a little better but still loss of power whit smoke and the fuel pump has been changed.

60 PSI is normal pressure, at idle is usually from 2.5 to 3.5 BAR.
But belive me the problem is other, I sugest bad injectorsCHItrucker Thanks this. -
I had the injectors replaced when the overhaul was done. They even check them electronically . Do you think they could have gone bad ?? Should I have them bench marked tested????
-
The shop said 60psi at idle way to high should be 30psi that's why white smoke etc etc
-
really recheck it with mecanical gauge, looks like bad sensor
-
Don't think its a bad sensor I forgot to to say that I have a 2000 Volvo with a detriot s60 motor fuel injectors where replaced when over haul was done .
-
If the fuel pressure is too low then you have a problem but definately not with too high one..
white smoke usually means antifreeze burning in the cylinders I think
are you loosing antifreeze? -
wighr smoke - fuel evaporation w/o ignition, may be too much fuel, ore no compression in cylinder (for example bad valve)
so start with compression test
