Sorry I did,nt get back here sooner to let everyone know how school has been going, but it has been a fast and furious couple of weeks.

Like I said before the school I am attending for Monson Trucking, is only 5 weeks long, and that is not alot of time to learn everything you have to in order to be a pofesional at this job.

This course is not for everyone. The instructer does not mess around AT ALL.. He has 5 weeks to make an impression on you and he intends for every one that finishes his course to be a compatent safe driver.

We started out with 5 students in the class. Monday we are starting week 3, and we are down to 3 of us. We will be takeing our road tests the end of this week. I can't wait to get over that hurdle.

The last 2 weeks we spent learniing how to shift gears, hook and unhook trailors, makeing left and right turns, and doing our backing manouvers, along with our road trips.

I never realized how stressfull it can be driveing that big truck around in traffic, trying to watch what every one else is doing all the while makeing sure I have complete controle of my truck at all times and makeing sure Im not missing any of my turns or anything else that I need to be aware of up ahead.

This job is not as easy as people think it is, if you want to do it corectly and safely, it takes alot of mental ability and concentration, especialy for a new driver.

But if you are commited to being succesfull you can do it.

Well take care eveyone and I will try to get back to you guys and gals the end of the week and let you know how my road test went.:biggrin_25520:

When/if you can successfully run a big truck through big cities at rush hour, you know you've arrived. The logs are the EASY part, however I think more errors are made in that area by far, as opposed to physical driving errors.

Funny how paperwork problems will get ya in trouble, even though ya never physicaly harmed anything/anyone. LOL

That's what I'm pretty nervous about is the log books. Luckily they go over them with u at the school I'm going to. Hopefully I can get the hang of them there.
