they are there, i had one that was terrible and one that was great.

even after all of the drama and crst bs i am glad i hooked onto them at the beggining i do imagine that i would be up the creek w/out a paddle if i did not have a co driver helping me out, but on the same note--- having a co driver can cripple you ability to do backing, you need to get out and look, learn where the trailer is and where it needs to go, having someone on the ground is a great tool but also it cripples your ability to back up.

practice makes perfect. get out and look as much as you need to .

one day i will be a super trucker that does not need to g o a l but now i am a baby trucker and need to crawl in and out a bunch of times, but i am way better than ever before.

Shookup--i also went on with CRST as one of my first OTR jobs--of course i was experienced due to the fact i drove local for a year but i still had to go out with a trainer for 4 weeks. But I specifically asked for a man trainer because I think it works better that way. Men have more patience and can teach you in a better manner. I think I had one of the best trainers CRST had. He was an awesome guy and I did as much driving as he did. I dont understand why you would need to be perfect in routing because when i worked for them they sent You door-to-door routes they wanted you to take---all you had to do was read the qualcomm. My hell with CRST didnt start till i got my team driver who was straight out of their school who they were screwin bigtime on pay. Well he decided he didnt wanna drive as much since he wasnt gettin paid as much. Shortly after that--i left cuz i couldnt do it all. We were gettin great miles but its hard for one person to drive it all when the other feels like he is workin for nothing. Their school and trainin program lies pretty bad to people--thank god i paid for my own school/training. Good luck to you--Keep the Faith!

Oh ya--CRST is mad famous for "adjusting" your DAC report. Took me a while to get mine fixed after them. LOL

Here's an idea; go to another company that hires teams (u and ur husband). I have several I could post or u can just search *********** As for the experience, tell them that you have driven for an owner operator for several months and that you are more than willing to take a road test to prove your driving abilities. With your husbands experience and your driving skills, you are a sure bet for the job. How do i know? because i got on with a company after 2 months of hell with my startup company with only 2 months experience but i told them that i drove for an o/o a year otr and i took a road test and bam, i was in!
Some companies will check harder than others but there arent alot of drivers knocking down thier doors to drive teams so they are very leanient!

    Good luck!

ok, how did they find out, because everyone I know at CRST , many drivers in passing at terminals and such..... are always looking for another job, why do you think that those truck stop books/magazines fly off the shelves?

He must have mentioned it to his dispatcher or something, not sure why he would do that, but.... anyways....

as far as ur DAC --- every one knows crst is full of garbage.....

the better companies will count ur experience with them, but will not take too seriously their garbage they place on ur DAC, crst is a dirtbag company, do ur 8mos and go on down the road...

he can get another job, there are many dirtbags companeis out there that will take him, werner, schneider, covenant, swift, any one of them will be happy to use him as long as he has no severe issues like death, dimemberment or a low clearance with bridge or a truck abandonment,

fender benders and small dumb stuff are the nature of the industry to newbies and i know a few seaoned drivers that have pulled off trl doors and ran over medians they did not see as wll as knock downs signs and just keep on tucking...

i know there are many that will take 3 year old dwi 's

crst is a dirtbag company, the only good thing about them is that thier contract for the students is 8months, many others liek swift are a year.

but the newbies gettign 11c a mile don't give a sh+++ thow many miles they roll they will max out a $400 a week.

i have dealt with that too.

if i was leaving them i would apply fast because it takes several days for anything to hit the DAC report. if you apply and they check quick it should still be clean!!!:biggrin_25515:

I don't know if many company's do it, but I know that with Central you get a shorter contract if you show up at the school with a permit. I saw several people do that and they got the refresher price, which is an 8 month contract.

I have actually been thinking about helping out some new drivers by training, but I cannot decide. I just swapped to a dedicated fleet, so the miles are not as high. But I would not team drive with a trainee anyway. I would solo just about the whole time, and just teach.
I believe they would learn more that way. I have a degree in Recreation and outdoor education, and I was a ski Instructor with children and adults for 8 years. I have alllllloooooooottttt of patience.
I have not made up my mind yet though. But it would be nice to have someone to talk to in the truck at times.
