I have two drops Monday. One at Friendly, WV and one at Monongah, WV. Google shows WV-2 E to WV-7 E to US-250 E. looks a little curvy. anybody know this route ? My rigs 75', I'll be fairly light, only 24k on the wagon. Any better options ?

I've been on that route plenty of times years ago. I vaguely remember some of it. I remember seeing shirts that said, "I survived route 7." I think it was mainly between morgantown and wadestown and the rock haulers that run wide open through there. As far as I remember route 2 and 250 are good roads considering that part of the hillbilly

I live in S.WV. not to familiar with that part of the state but I would double check bridge law if it anything like where I live takes me 40 min to get to my house 12 miles down Rt 3 real curvy and not ditch friendly.

I just drove Route 7 a few months ago. It's not that bad of a route. Several of the bridges are narrow one-lanes but you usually know well in advance that the bridge is coming. There is no low clearances. There's a few curves that might sneak up on you (not a ton of signage). When I drove it, I came up on a flatbed that went off the right shoulder and down a ravine into someone's front yard. I enjoyed it, and I was loaded to about 70k gross.

Dude take the original route it's cake. Used to haul coal all through those hills grossing over 100k. Easy easy.

Drop the 10 miles back to St Marys and hit 16 south to 50, 50 to I79, 79 north. 1.5 to 2 hours your there easy.

I think you're right, google is only showing 2 minutes more driving time and that is based on a car. I have a feeling I'll get there quicker going down to 50. Plus I'm just a farmboy from IL, I can't wiggle through the curves like you hillbillies can and I don't mind admitting it ! lol, I mostly worry about people coming from the other way when I got my truck in one lane and my trailer in the other going around turns.

Haha there are some switchbacks
