You need a passport, passport card or enhanced license also, birth certificates are a thing of the past thanks to our government.

 

Don't know, there is a list on their site of crimes or criminal acts that limit your access but I'm not thinking your's would be one.

Call them, there is a number on the site, Canada is usually cool about questions and after thousands of crossings I have only met one guy on the Maple Leaf side with an attitude and that was because I couldn't pronounce a street name in French as he wanted it done.

 

I can speak first hand about the restraining order.it won't affect going into Canada. It will affect coming back to the states.you will get pulled in every time and get questioned about it.
