Where in the Constitution does it "Guarantee" your "Right" To have a job?Really?.....Who does the hiring?.....Ever been hired by a Poor man before?
Again...Where in the Constitution does it say the gov't is here to "provide"?
Then don't be "poor".....
Btw....If it's so bad to be "poor" in America....How is it that the "poor" have smartphones and cars again?
When I was a kid...Being poor meant you did without....
Why do we let them get away with it? And why doesn't the government protect drivers

Y A W N.... Sounds like its going to be an old age argument..demographics....
old age thinking verses new age thinking...the two will never ever agree. -
It's like this....
Just because something is new...Doesn't make it better....
That applies to cars....Appliances....And the youth.....
Take that as you may.....But with most people today under 40.....I'm not impressed....
Call me "Old-fashioned"...But what worked when I was younger....Still works....Why fix something that isn't broke?Hammer166 Thanks this. -
Because old age thinking cripples progress! As I sit in my fancy leather air ride seat ,SURE am glad things keep " moving forward"
-
Yeah..."Forward" is a "Two-Peddle" Tractor because most new drivers can't drive a manual transmission...
"Forward" is an EOBR because many new drivers can't handle time keeping on a graph....
You can keep "Forward"....."Forward" is just way for the "low-skilled" and Nescient to have a job for lower pay...... -
Btw...."Forward" is a driver who depends 100% on a GPS.....For directions....
Great example.....About a month ago when Vail was getting slammed.....A driver heading W/B (Downhill to Vail) trusted his GPS a little too much....The GPS had him run right up the escape ramp and then a quick left...He flipped his rig into the Granny lane below.....
Yep...."Forward" is so much better.....

Are you for real... Are you missing the whole point here.. The point of this topic isn't about who is responsible for the PTI and who's fault it really is... The whole point of the thread is to say you are still working during a PTI regardless of the reason why your doing that PTI.... YOU ARE WORKING it doesn't matter why or what your doing in your job, the fact is you are working there is no other way to put it.. And if you don't think you aren't working then explain to me one thing.. Why is it part of your 14hr day rather then you PTI on your OWN time rather then company time.. Therefore it shouldn't count as work then...
Onto the off topic that you so rudely are trying to make me sound like an idiot with the mouth/brain comment... The driver is ULTIMATELY responsible for that truck no doubt about it... But in the end if you were stupid enough not to check out your truck (because your not getting paid and making a statement) not only will the DRIVER be getting fined/jailed/fired the company will also see hefty fines as well... So hopefully this clears up who has the fault... But it don't matter who has the fault in the end, cause when that company gets hefty fines because of the drivers lack of PTI, that company could loose it's company because of it... I never said it wasn't the drivers fault, and I would never not PTI a truck just because I wasn't getting paid cause my safety and the safety of others is more important..
The problem is, we get walked on because of this.... They have you backed into a corner... They know your going to check your truck out regardless if they pay you or not... Really who is stupid enough to wanna make such a point to a company (about being paid on PTI) that they would purposely risk the safety of pubic and themselves....
On another note... This isn't just about PTI's either.. This is about downtime from break downs, loading/unloading times, tarping times, border wait times, fuelling etc.... So your gonna say.. Well why should company pay you while your getting loaded, fuelling, waiting and downtimes.. Well because YOUR WORKING and anytime your WORKING you should be getting paid... Why should have to sit at a dock for free for 1hr-2hrs, so you can pick up at load and only get paid when your wheels move.. So that your company can rake in the $$$$ and pay you peanuts to deliver that load.... You don't think your company is making enough money off that load, that they can pay you a simple $10 for sitting there for an hour waiting for a load to be loaded... -
Hee Hee this could go on forever..."old cowboy truck drivers"used to drive the old trucks with a Budweiser between their legs, sure glad that doesn't happen anymore.Sorry Charlie but I'd rather have my a/c ,leather seats, air ride ,GPS,and flat screen as I slide on by ya...wink wink
