Just got a prehire offer from Schneider for teh JC penney NE regional Account
the lady said it was hands on, pretty good pay.
the only thing i'm worried about is that its schneider and also that its for JC Penney. the stores seems pretty crappy to me and likely to go out of business.
i dont leave until the 25th. what all do you guys think about this?
p.s. i'm a complete rookie, no experience at all. this seems like great pay for a new hire once i make it out of training. any suggestions or should i keep looking?

There is nothing permanent about dedicated retail accounts . The go up for bid every few years and often change carriers . I worked on a TJ Maxx account and the carriers change their every couple of years .
Schneider probably just underbid that account and got it from the previous carrier . -
Your worried because it's Schneider? Then why come aboard?
-
Maybe he read the exchange between Senator Peter Defazio and Schneider CEO Chris Lofgren when Lofgren was begging to have immigration laws eased to get more cheap labor . Lofgren said he was paying drivers less than they were making in the 80's . It was during a House Transportation Committee hearing and it's all on public record .

Right, so why come aboard?

i'm not concerned as much about schneider as much as i'm worried about the account that i''ve been prehired for. nonetheless i recognize the opportunity that it is and am grateful for it. no disrespect meant RickG
i do have a question about weight. i'm presently 255 pounds standing at 5'10. i dont want to give up my present job only to go to schneider and realize that i'm medically disqualified becuase some chart says i'm fat. i'm a nationally ranked weight thrower, i have type 2 diabetes that i control through diet and medicine that is not insulin (metformin Extended release)
anyone have any insight into this? -

You should be fine, worse comes to worse they lose the account and you have to go OTR.
-
recruiter said they require i get my hazmat in 90 days of hire? anyone else have to do this?
-
If your Recruiter says you need to get your Haz, whether or not anyone else has been asked to get it doesn't matter, just go get it! Its simple: study a few hours, take the test, write a smaller check and get finger printed. Having it will help you in the long run!
ethos Thanks this.
