First proper trip planning will prevent a layover as u call it. A real layover is when after u unload and sit 24 hours and u don't get a load you can either request a layover pay or have them put u in a hotel. Equipment problems is breakdown pay and a hotel if requires. Just because u didn't properly trip planned and felt the need to rush and try to to delv that is on you not the company.

at the moment its only 70ish and overcast. IF it wasnt so humid around here I would be using just the fan I bought. But its around 85% humidity and expected to remain at or near 70 til about 10 tonight.Being dedicated and home 98% of the time every night, I have some room to idle on the odd occasion I sleep in the truck. Shouldnt affect my bonus at all. On track to max out. As it is, I run close to 8-9 MPG with these light loads we haul. IO figure they owe me!!!

mickeyrat68 said: ↑That's where they are confusing things. Referring to "breakdown" pay is different for both of them. In bulk, he's referring to breakdown pay as being for problems with customer equipment, whether it be pumps, valves, etc etc, not tractor breakdowns. Obviously, breakdown pay would be for tractor breakdowns, while "breakdown pay" in the sense that ethos is stating (hence, detention pay in van terms) are two separate issues.ethos said: ↑so you run bulk? They wont put that sensor on your divisions trucks , due to idle for pumps?

I know there are a lot of jokes about the slow Schneider trucks- I see them on all of the trucker joke pages. But it is nice to work for a company that is focused on safety- the driver, the equipment, and the general public are all taken into consideration with Schneider. After working for a company that would send me messages on the qualcomm on a regular basis asking me to do illegal things, it was a relief to go to Schneider and work for a company that puts safety first. I came back to Obetz one day from my hometime, and the loaded trailer I was supposed to hook to and deliver was in need of work at the shop. After driving to Obetz from Dayton, OH and dealing with the shop all day, I was honestly too tired to leave that night and drive to Baltimore. I called Green Bay support, told them the situation, and they got my delivery time rescheduled so that I could deliver the load safely. It was great that they cared enough to do that. My old company would have told me to drive that night, anyway- regardless of the fact I was too fatigued to safely operate the vehicle. Things like that make having to drive 60mph worthwhile. They have treated me well, and I have always tried to do the job the way they want it done.

Anyone want to take this load off me going to SC. 2 weeks solo and I get to run straight for a hurricane. Any advice on how to handle this.

It's a tropical storm, it will weaken by the time it gets there, it'll be a glorified heavy rain storm with minor to moderate winds, you'll be fine.Palace37 said: ↑Anyone want to take this load off me going to SC. 2 weeks solo and I get to run straight for a hurricane. mickeyrat68 said: ↑They probably won't because of that and H.I.T. But I am saying that the day I hear they are putting them is the day my notice goes in. I hope that never happens but the easiest way for them to save is by hurting us. Couple that with drivers who think it's no big deal and you can have problems.ethos said: ↑so you run bulk?
