Just because the truck is placed OOS doesn't mean the driver is. The driver in your scenario would be free to leave the coop any time they want. Just not with the truck.
worried about scales

I want to know how much you were overweight to only get a $50 fine.
-
I once got an overweight ticket of $700.00.Learned my lesson, lol.
-
Not for tandems, takes them 10 minutes tops.Ive had to depend on the TA a few times with my last company because of their trailers.
-
What do you do when there is no scales before you go thru the coop?
-
Got a $200 overweight ticket in Ok the other day..." Sir do you take Am/X..why yes mam we do.ok thank you, have a nice day..l

You find one even if it means going the oposite direction a few miles.Get yourself a pocket truckstop book. Its a truckers best friend. It has trk stops and which ones have scales/
Numb Thanks this. -
Get out your road map and start looking for "shortcuts"
or slide your tandems to the end of the load and it will get you pretty close to legal. Say a prayer and hope for the best.

I don't know if central does. But most companies will refund every dollar you spend on the CAT scale, so if its even questionable I would throw it on there. Takes 5m and you can drive stress free. Like others said, if tandoms wouldn't slide, have your company send a mobile repair man, or if there's a PETRO/TA close enough take it there.
No reason to worry about scales when you have a big yellow "IM LEGAL ######" slip on you though.passion4polishing Thanks this. -
That sounds like Justice Illinois Police department. Every time he pulls me over he brags about that out of route load.
