That's why all of my receipts get mailed home daily.

To answer the OP question.
You were "Minimum allowable" on brake thickness. That means that today you are OK but you need to put shoes on it. Your sticker tells DOT officers in the future (for 90 days) that you are good to go. You may not be good in 89 days because your brakes will (in the opinion of the inspecting officer) be below minimum by then.airforcetoo Thanks this. -
I just got a level 1 on the 5th in Foristell, MO, only thing they found was the dash ABS light didn't come on...She literally wrote a gold star on a piece of paper and said she was out of stickers, LOL!

The last level 1 I had after the officer couldn't find anything wrong he climbed into the trailor and inspected the cargo (food). Anyone evey have this happen before?

With 1 hour to go in the Safety Blitz I got stopped in Kansas and as our friend Murphy says, ####.
One light, that has been working perfectly since I picked up this trailer and was working perfectly during my pre-trip was out. I had even spent 5 hours getting another light fixed on the truck yesterday morning and had rechecked all the lights while I was in there to be sure they were all good.

That's like saying, "you passed the inspection, but I think you'll have a (insert your favourite wear item here, i.e., light, tire, wiper blade, accessory belt, etc.) failure in the next 90 days even though I have no basis in fact for making that claim." If he was legal at the time of inspection, then he was legal. Period.cetanediesel Thanks this.

I have been driving 30+ years and this is the first time I have parked my unit for the 72 hour blitz. After an hour and a half inspection in Az. several weeks ago, the officer wrote me up for the rear license plate light out. Even though there is no plate for the rear, if the fixture is there, then the light must work. He said the fixture can be removed and that is legal. UnF????? believable. 7 points x 3= 21 points. As an o/o, I can't risk anymore points. I have lost all faith that if you take good care of your equipment and run legal, then any minor infraction might be overlooked, especially if it has nothing to do with safety.
Just like every other well meaning government program, CSA will eventually come back to bite the American people in the ###. When there aren't enough drivers who are willing to live this lifestyle with all the regulations for cheap pay, I am sure the FMCSA will not blame all the regulations. They will have to come up with some new well meaning plan.
I have had enough and am looking forward to my retirement in July 2014. My truck will also be parked the first week of June 2014.airforcetoo Thanks this. -
in utah. as a retired safety and emissions inspector. it was either pass or fail. if the car had 2/32 it was an advise or fail. above that it was advise. 3/32 was a flat out pass.
the car would pass. and could get it's new license sticker. it wasn't a fail becuase the brakes wore bound to be worn out within the next THIRTY DAYS. so the car gets a reject and 15 days to fix.
what happens in 90 days isn't up to the officer. it legally passed. and therefore qualifies for a sticker. and if the officer were cool. he'd TELL THE DRIVER his brakes were getting close. instead of giving him his pass form and THEN telling him he's not getting a sticker becuase he's close. and will need new brakes within 90 days.
and from what i've been hearing. doesn't sound like that 90 days exists anymore.
during this most recent blitz. i've talked to 3 guys who were inspected more then once. 2 had brand new stickers. once guy got a fix it for a brake hose. but the next scale said nothing about the hose but gave him a fixit for a light. and one guy with a new sticker. went through SIX inspections. so he says. -
Best of luck in ure future endeavors jigsaw. You're right its getting pretty bad...
Can anyone explain to me or show me what the stickers look like and how would you know when ure 90 days are up? Do they put a date on it like when u go change the oil in ure car?
