Pulling logs in Michigan , 159000 lbs gross weight, just bought the truck and it really struggles pulling a load of logs. Will ecm upgrades get this truck to growl a little and pull???? Any ideas???

Go talk to Eric at sspd60.com got pdi on my o5 14l not happy my stock 6nz will kick this things butt. And they dont care if you got complaints pdi will just humor ya Have friend who did 12.7 with sspd60 pulls and gets good mpg. Thinking about having him reflash my pdi stage 1 ECM.

It's hard to believe they can get so much more power from that ecm. I am gonna try it. Would a different turbo help?? I

Yes a tune will make it growl and go. We had ours done about 2 months ago by rebel127 and couldn't be any happier. We had a cac leak and a turbo hose leaking. You might want to check and see if you have any cac leaks, that can make you lose a lot of horsepower. I haul logs, grossing around 90,000 and have a 10 speed with 3.58 rears and I can pull most any hill at 65 or 70. I've got a 14L Detroit 60 series.

It sounds like the thing to do. Now I'm debating the Borg warner turbo. When the ecm is tuned how many horses will it b. ? It supposed to be 515 now, feels like 350

I don't know how many horsepower it would be. Rebel127 put a 550 tune and a 2060 torque and it's just awesome. I still have the stock turbo, haven't changed anything else.

Sounds like Rebel put my tune in your truck. Those are the same numbers I run off the dyno at Atrim. I still have the VNT also. I'll put that one back on too when it goes.
