I don't see panic. The 1/2 doesn't affect me at all. The 168 between the start of resets will really mess with my weekends off though. Personally I think the wording of the rule defies the intention.

One of my friends was getting almost 48 hours off each weekend. Now the closer they get to the new rules, and they are now making it be only 34 hours in preparation of the rules. I told him, he will probably not get the restart anymore and have to work off recap. He is electronic, so he will not have to figure it.

everyone takes a 30. wether you admit to it or not. we all gotta stop for one reason or another.

the thing that's BS. is the fact the sometimes we sit 48 hours or whatever looking for that next load. no mo fresh hours. and the reset that stands.

we all need to march to the white house and tell them to stop ridiculing our jobs. or maybe we could just kidnap them and show them what it's really like to be in our shoes.

So, you choose it to be a full reset. Then 3 days later you are sitting for 2 days. You cannot go back and change the choice you made on the first reset.

Also, when the first reset got you hours when you were out of them, you would not be able to retro the change either.

    Dinomite Thanks this.

The Reset can last from 34 to 48 hours to get the 1-5 am thing in. So to those who are at home every night or on a dedicated account it's all good. For those who are otr and you sit at a meat plant for 30 hours and Just 4 more hours the old way you could run your full 11. Now instead you would have to run off that 4 hours that your gain at midnight then sit the rest of the day until midnight. I like those who say it's not going to be big problem. I guess if your goal is not getting all the miles you can get from pay period to pay period being a way from home. It won't matter. But unless you have some 10's and 11's coming off that recap sitting and waiting till midnight after only driving 4 hours. Is going to suck.

I guess the bigger companies will do more relaying. That means take your good load from you so you can deliver Jim Bob's load 120 miles down the road because he is out of hours. I have noticed in the 3 weeks I didn't do a reset I did a ton of relays and or delivered late loads that had to be rescheduled. Guess it's going to be more of the same come next month. Hope your bills are paid up.

Yes but if you roll in between 7pm and 1 in the morning it is the closest thing to a 34 that will be possible; and then you can leave at 5am the 2nd day you are sitting

Absolutely! That's the focus: When approaching a reset be sure to get off by 1 am to get both periods.....and if you need extra time where ever? Drag ur feet and push the restart period.

Own the 34 drivers....... work it to your advantage.

oh. i most defentily own the 34. can't recall how many times i've used it in this 4 week stretch on the road. but i know i'm averaging 2 resets a week.

it's a nice idea to make the same while working half as much. too bad i can't be home instead of playing gypsy.

Does the 30 minute break have to be taken at one time? Or could you take several smaller breaks?
