It started at 11pm Wednesday. It's as simple as that.

OK, my question is too complicated.

You've been home for a week. You go back to work and burn through your hours in 5 days. ( I do this often because I run on Canadian rules when north of the border. 13 hours driving a day )

I say you can reset immediately.

But Buford T. Justice might say no because he could figure that my last reset started 34 hours before I went back to work and not 7 days prior when I first started my time off.

As a wannabe I'm confused. Why would they limit how many 34 hour breaks one can take in a week? Isn't that opposite of the goal of making sure people rest? And what is a reset? Very confusing, sure it would make more sense if actually doing it instead of daydreaming.

Because this world is full of people who think its their responsibility to tell others how to live. And sadly, the USA, the freest country ever dreamed up, seems to be leading the way.

Back to the subject at hand.
I agree with what you guys are telling me but my gut tells me it's going to be a problem on the local enforcement level.

These rules are some of the stupidest regulations I ever seen. makes no sense to only beable to rest when they decide that its ok for you. This one size fits all #### is ridiculous. i'm glad I still run paper logs, still can fudge the majority of it anyways.....

Do all your resets in Canada where we don't have such stupid rules... problem solved.

Okay, we have stupid rules here too, just not quite as stupid.
