The tanker division has had ups and many more downs... hauling fresh water to the well sights is not as easy as Stevens thought it would be. And LOTS of competition. Not a profitable jump from refers... Last I heard stevens was paying low ball wages for fresh water hauling, only $16.00 per hour.

I made it into my drop and emptied out having all ready figuring on having to take a 34 reset at the hook in Pontoon Beach and before I could even get out of the gate from the receiver I had a doable preplan to run on my recap. This will be my first time since November of being able to run a recap as I finally got my hours set up to do one. After the last week and a halfs fiasco of repairs it is certainly needed.

A renewed word of advice to drivers: Others see what you're doing and often call into the center to anonymously report your deeds.
Recently we had one person call and report a driver tailgating a car and 'bullying' his way down the road driving recklessly. The truck & trailer numbers were accurate as was the location at the time of the incident. Moments later a competitive truck driver called to report the same truck weaving in and out of traffic.
An anonymous caller called to say a driver was seen coming out of a liquor store with a 'package' and took it to his truck. Subsequently a 'surprise' BA test showed him to be drinking. Guess who will be out of a driving career now?
I had a fuel island clerk call and report one of our drivers with 'significant' alcohol on his breath. She called the highway patrol as well as us.
Not a good ending there either.
I'm mentioning these to remind everyone there are eyes and ears out there constantly. Do what is right. Follow the rules and you won't have a problem. But don't think you won't get caught if you cheat. It does come back on you eventually and the price may be much higher than you're willing to pay.Bigdubber, Diesel&Dust, Jarhed1964 and 8 others Thank this. -
My favorite call from yesterday:
"I need a repower"
"You're 2 miles from the final. Why do you need a repower?"
"There's a day and a half left on this load. I don't want to just sit here."
"I understand. But if I called you and asked you to sit on a load for a day and a half for two miles, what would you say to me?"
"What?"
Repeat question
"I wouldn't do it! Are you crazy?"
"Then why do you think I can find anyone to take your load?"
"Maybe someone out of hours that can just sit."
"OK, I'll look, but don't hold your breathe. Next time call me when there's 500 miles left on the load so I have something to offer and time to find someone."
"Well THAT would be stupid. Why would I give up 500 miles?"
"Perhaps to gain 600 or maybe just to not have to sit in Cedar Falls for a day and a half."
"You guys are worthless!"
"Is there any thing else I can do for you?"
"Naw. just forget it."
"Thank you for calling. If we can be of assistance, give us a call. We're here all weekend to help you."Roknric, Rattlebunny, Dryver and 6 others Thank this. -

Posted elsewhere on the board today but I thought I would put it here for training purposes and not for a quick laugh at the expense of another professional freight relocation specialist.
