How do you guys pay your drivers, or owner ops leased to you? Do you have a business checkbook you rip out a check, fill it out put it in an envelope toss it in the mail, OR do you have a service of somesort that does it for you and you just input the numbers on the computer and it gets to them, and they send a nice crisp check to driver
Small carriers/Fleet owners..

Just fyi not many drivers are gonna want a check do direct deposit..
-
Seems like direct deposit is the way to go; do i still need to send them anything showing load miles days worked hours worked etc?
-
You should have a trip sheet that they fill out that lists all the loads and work done. That way you can have your columns you fill in with the mileage, rate, hours that you pay to show the total on the bottom.
For my drivers I cut them a cheque but deposit it into their bank account for them. For me it would cost around $50 per pay period to do direct deposit so that is the cheaper solution for me. I then give them the cheque stub which shows the break down of taxes, benefits etc as well as a copy of the completed trip sheet for the period. -
There is also Comcheck with a direct deposit options . Most carriers charge the fees to the driver

For O/O's leased onto to me I do it through comdata I eat the fees for their settlement transaction. Company drivers get check or direct deposit which ever they choose.

Yes email works great for this
