My credit sucks, I mad bad financial mistakes when I was younger. My application got approved with Maverick three weeks ago and I'm on the waiting list. I've paid off 4 or 5 small loans trying to rebuild my credit but I know it's still not real good. TMC telling him they wouln't hire youre classmate cuz he had bad credit may have just been a lame excuse, I don't know. I 'm not sure if companies do that or not to be honest with you. -
i'm seriously considering maverick. i just have to get a way to print the stuff they sent me in my e-mail and faxing it back tot hem. i hope they will take me i think i'm gonna wait till it warms up a lil bit though b/c i dont' have the clothes to stay warm while tarping and straping loads...

Kay,
How long did Angie tell you would be waiting? I know you are going to their school so i am assuming your trainer is gonna pick you up after Orientation? Or are you gonna have another wait? -
Why don't u have them mail u a packet. It's got a brochure on the company and everything in it, thats what I did. I filled out the app and sent it back in. Shouln't take no more than a couple of days for them to get it. Just call and check in a couple of days and make sure they have received it.

She said it would be 2 months or so. I'm going to a local school to get my class a. Maverick doesn't send u to Newport anymore for flatbed. The only way they will send u to school to get youre class a is if u are going into the specialized division, which I don't live in the hiring area for specialed division nor would I want to be in that division. I'm just going to keep calling every other week or so to check in to see how things are going. As far as another wait after oreintation, I don't know. -
Oh thats not a problem at all. I start school Feb.18 and will be done in 5 weeks so 2 months aint bad at all. I wont quit until they schedule me for ori anyway. I have thought of other companies but my gut feeling steers me to Mav. Thanks

Quite simple, people with GOOD credit are less likely to steal fuel, sell the equipment off the truck, or disappear completely with a valuable load. Many times it isn't really the companies making the decisions, but their insurance carriers.
-
Last Month Maverick wanted me in school and like the next week. I put them off trying to make things work where I was, that was probably a mistake as I'm sure I'll get a bad review from them now. My credit is about as bad as it gets too.

So true--insurance carriers usually call the final shots! It sucks but its how this industry works!
