If you're paying 96 a week and think that's a deal, you're a fool drinking their kool aid. I can name 5 companies off the top of my head where drivers pay 0 premiums. Secondly going out and working 60 plus hours a week and never missing a day hardly qualifies as lazy. I've never made a check over a thousand here. Largest I've grossed was just over 800. No, I didn't know they had a no hands free policy before I signed on. They drop that on you the last day of orientation. I think you must be the recruiter Dave. They have high turnover for a reason. Its a low paying crappy job. Dispatchers and shop again, are always rude and disrespectful. Answer me this. If its such a good job, how come they lose so many people every week? They're all lazy huh? You're a doosh. You may have never worked for a good co and don't know the difference. I do.
O and you having a brand new truck is a #### lie. Apex doesn't own any 2013 trucks. You have to be the recruiter. There's about 5 2012 trucks in the whole fleet most are 06-07 trucks with nearly a million miles on them. If anyone doesn't believe what I say go work for them for yourself. Hope you don't have any bills. Good luck paying them.
What do you think of Ron the shop foreman Dave Costa? All the drivers hate him so if I hear you say that youve never had any issues with him than I call bs. You're the recruiter. It says call Dave for a job on the backs of all the trailers.

You go jerry !! Tell it like is,, for some reason I believe Apex is even more horrible than you describe....
-
Jerry have you found anything or are you still at APEX. Im currently in search of a company to work for in the high desert but after reading your post I changed my mind about applying.

Apex Bulk Commodities...thats a name I hadn't heard in years. So to pile on with the OP this is the Swift of pnuematics. Ive never worked for a more ###### company in my 11yrs. And if Dave has been there for yrs u should remember when they tried to open up a terminal in Tyler Tx in 2008. It was an epic fail. Came with promises of all this work and the money to be made and it was all a lie. 4 months later laid everybody off and hauled ##### back to Adelanto. That was in 08 so I have no problem believing they're even worst off now.

Apex is a joke. The upper managment click desides if you make it or not. The owner is a fool because he doesn't see the stupid crap that goes on. That's on him. The female Fleet Manager is also a joke. She goes after the young and cute. She has something to prove and steps on anyone and everyone to get there. Do your self a favor and stay away from them. I just got out and I thank God that work picked up so I could. The only thing the owner cares about is looking like a BIG WIG not about his employee's. They say they want safety but let the div managers push past the point and then lay it on the driver. There are good job's out there keep trying, don't go down this road. You will end up broke and discusted.

What can you tell me about SS Hert? They seem to run help wanted ads fairly often for Fallon, Nv. Do they have a lot of turn over? Are they worth looking into? Any info would be appreciated-Thanks

Mr. "Costa", let's see here. First I looked up Apex Bulk Commodities. Their address is 12531 Violet in Adelanto, CA. Then I looked your IP address, which came up looking awful close to where this company's located.
So we have that, and your TWO total posts, BOTH in this thread.
Notwithstanding the stupidity of registering here under what appears to be your real name, you're not fooling anyone, sir. You're a plant, and we know it.mjd4277, urdangerzone, bottomdumpin and 3 others Thank this. -
I worked for them back in the 97's and the description was fairly spot on, Yes Double Eagle is better, so is Valley or Hert, Hardwich & Hand, H&N. Iguess almost everybody is better. Im out of work and would not go back there.
trailmaker Thanks this. -
WOW....I'm saddened to hear such bad things about Apex Bulk. I've been with Apex since 2009 (B-1 Division), and I can honestly say this is the best job I've had in my 22 years of driving. I KNOW, I KNOW...everyone's gonna call me a "plant", and you're entitled to your own opinions. Anyway, from my experience over the last five years, I've seen drivers come and go for various reasons. Mainly for not following company policies or costing the company hundreds or even thousands of dollars for incidents that occur when drivers aren't paying attention at either the customer location or on the road.
To be honest, the ones that don't stay long are usually the drivers that come into the job with a chip on their shoulder about the trucking industry (mainly from OTR work), or they are strong-headed and set in their ways with bad driving habits (also from OTR work) and don't like to follow company policy. I've had new Apex drivers tell me that THIS policy is stupid, and they don't follow THAT rule...so yes, they don't last. Apex Bulk has an outstanding reputation not only with their customers and the general motoring public, they are recognized as one of THE SAFEST trucking companies not only by the C.T.A., but also by the C.H.P.
Like I said before, I absolutely dig working for Apex. I'm NOT kissing anyone's backside by talking up the company or trying to change anyone's mind about the company. If you had a bad experience with Apex, then you more than likely have bad experiences with every company you drove for. May I suggest you start looking for the reasons for these bad experiences within yourself, because having a bad attitude about your life has a great impact on how you do your job. I have a great attitude about trucking in general (see my username), and I bring that attitude into every job I've had. Apex management, shop personnel, co-workers and anyone in the Apex family recognizes a great attitude and will support that driver in any way they can to keep you happy while driving for Apex.
Another thing is safety. All companies say that safety is their top priority, and as we all know, it's the first thing to go out the window once you start driving for most companies. Apex preaches and practices safety as their #1 priority without exception, and they MEAN IT!!! SAFETY, SAFETY, SAFETY!!!!! Maybe some drivers get down on Apex because of their safety program, but that's Apex's foundation for success...maybe those drivers just need to realize the implications of not working safely. I know I want to go home at the end of the day.
So go ahead....call me a plant, call me an ***kisser...I'll just brush it off. I'm happy were I'm at in my career, and I will continue to praise Apex for an outstanding job in supporting it's drivers.
Have a great day!!!
R. W.
