does anyone haul for landstar and pull a company van?
are u staying busy?
do u ever have a problem of accepting a load and getting to the shipper and they have already loaded it on another truck or brokered it out to another company?i have had this happen a few times with the company i work for now, course i got paid d/h miles, i was early for the pu at all locations walked in and my company had brokered the load out to another company after dispatching me on it, or they had dispatched 2 drivers on the same load
what happens if ur on your way to a delivery and your truck breaks down and u cant make delivery ontime? -
As a Company driver most drivers don't even see the cost of running the truck.
You can buy your own plates and everything else for that matter and Landstar won't charge you for any of it. -
That is a good way of putting it. The charges are going to be there, if you are a Landstar BCO or an independent O/O. The only time you probably wouldn't see those charges is if you are leased to a company that only pays .80 plus FSC a mile. -
I have been doing a lot of research on Landstar and I really want to join this company and enjoy the freedom a driver deserves. Can anyone point me in the right direction of purchansing my own rig with less than perfect credit?
-
If possible try to repair your credit. You'll save big time. Other wise I'd hate to see your payment.
You have way more options when you have a low payment.
Other than that I don't know of anyone.
Also it helps to get a warranty.
Hope that helps. -
boking a load and then havingit "cancel" or geting there and findingit on another truck already is part of trucking when you deal with brokers be it landstar or independant
-
Right, but if you show up before it cancels you can get up to $350 for a Truck ordered not used with LS.
-
ya but how often are they letting you show up first? and how many people are getting paid for it. From reading the BCO forum it seems the brokers like to play games with booking there loads and double covering them, then you get a cancelation half way over there.
I'm not bashing LS, I know this stuff happens. I'm STILL waiting on my application to clear over there. been a month now -
ive wondered something, does Landstar have a spealized division? i think ive seen a few running up and down the road, but im not sure if its the same?
