So my fuel guage has decided it no longer wants to work anymore. It goes from all the way to F to E and starts the alarm. Just wondering if there is a "quick fix" for this issue? I've been having to stop every few hours and put 50 gals in just to make sure I don't run low, I know I could make it several more hours, but without having a fuel gauge who knows. lol

Set ur spedo for 500 miles then fill up

Quick fix, grab a yard stick and get it fixed when you get back home.

Just do it old-school... use your trip odometer to gauge distance. That's what we used to do when fuel gauges were as accurate as sundials. If you have driven that truck for any length of time you should know roughly the distance you can travel when loaded and empty regardless of what the gauge reads.

The only thing you can do is unplug it and plug it back in to see if you have a poor connection. The wiring is usually pretty good, the sender itself is the usual culprit.

Yard Stick won't work, it has a anti siphon screen built in. I've been just watching the miles. Guess ill continue to do that. Thanks all.

I have the same issue with mine after taking it to the dealer they couldn't find the problem because the fuel gauge decided to work properly but that didn't stop them from charging me.

Where they suppose to look at it for free?

No also I had to relace my oil pressure sensor but.they said they TigHTING up some fuel lines and ect.. But now that gauge will act up every once in awhile.

I did that when fuel was changing over to winter blend. Ran out of fuel 15 mi from fuel stop. The funny thing about that I had the new fuel sender unit in truck. When I got to the truck stop, I had them put new unit in. I pushed the envelop and got caught during winter. Save yourself some hassle and buy the unit.
