In the rain.

I'm sitting at the shipper while it's raining and nothing here is tarped, but my load information says 6' tarp.

Sometimes it's because of road grime and dirt.....but this has been covered already

 

If it is raining and they load me outside in the rain and they want it tarped, they pay me to tarp then they get it tarped. I also make notation that "Product was wet and loaded in the rain". Some places dont mind snow on their stuff in the winter, but dont want that sodium chloride road spray on their product. We have regular backhauls out of Tennessee. November 1st to April 1st we tarp, April 1st to November 1st we dont.

 

Also, there's the "if it looks good, it is good" thought process. If DOT only sees a good tarp job going through scales, all the better. It still irks me though.

 

Did we really need another thread complaing about tarping? Don't like to tarp in the rain, wind, snow, heat, cold? Don't take loads that tarp, if that still does not make you happy go swing doors.

 

Just tape the load and note on the the bill loaded in rain load wet as another poster said. I'll agree with Oscar if you don't wanna tarp in all weather either don't take tarp loads or go to swing doors. Getting wet wasn't a big deal to me when I ran a flat, I was more concerned about wind. But I did what I had to do trucking ain't for sissies remember that. Also remember when in 40mph winds if the wind catches the tarp LET GO!!! Or you may end up like Dorothy!

I untarped and rolled them up in sunshine and 104* in Houston yesterday..... I would have killed for a downpour
