So far, out of 3 companies OOIDA has given me the best insurance quote. In the near future I will need to obtain liability and cargo insurance and I'm leaning more towards OOIDA. The concern I have, is that I've heard from 2 different sources that some brokers may have a problem with OOIDA's cargo insurance. Is this information correct, and if so, as a new Carrier how bad would I be affected by this?

I wouldnt worry about landstar as a major player unless you want the leftover crap. if it pays and they are farming it out its because there is too much bs involved and their guys wont haul it more than 1 time!

Thanks to you both for the important info. you provide. I will be sure to check with OOIDA first thing Monday morning. Thanks again.

Ls and OOIDA have made nice nice, I believe they now accept their insurance.

So whats really going on with OOIDA and their insurance why it's not accepted by everyone? As a Flatbed operation there may be times when I will need Landstar and others to get out of a certain area so I think it's best to be prepared for the worst.

I no u said u run a flat bed but make sure u tell them everything that u generally haul. OOIDA had the best rate for me also when I was looking and I just about had everything set and was about to send the payment when finally they found out I haul coal... They do not cover that for some reason and luckily I found out before it was too late

Used to be the Great State of Florida did not allow them to write policies for Florida based trucks.. Not sure about now.

Thanks, a part of my operation will be an unusual flatbed load so I'll be sure to inquire about this.
