I'm at the house, I had a miserable day today....still got this black cloud over my head.

I was pumping off and bsing with a Foodliner driver when my hydraulic line @ my pump ruptured and covered the poor reciever, luckily shes okay and a good sport to boot...

So I spent an hour cleaning up spilled hydraulic fluid, draggin' hoses around full of liquid sugar which covered my one week old pair of shoes so that the foodliner truck could pump my load off...

Before all this had happened my inverter kept saying "OPP" which is its way of saying its shorting out, I checked all the wires (less than 2 months old) and they were all like new, changed the terminals on my battery to no avail, the inverter is toast...

and on the way home my A/C gave up the ghost...

so now im @ home just relaxing...

They probly did but I hate eastern Oklahoma with a passion. My routes had me wandering around on way skinny roads north east of Pittsburg all afternoon. Butler, PA had some kind of jeep show going on which had my route closed so the police got to clear the street to let me through nothing like running thru town and two bad corners with an audience.

Many thank for the kind words guys, much appreciated.
I made it back to Rochester, had to bounce...oh well.
Satellite install Monday, as well as a DOT etc, then off home to dump some stuff I have apparently been hording for the past 8yrs!
Still not decided on the APU situation, going to look at some underbunk AC options, to save the 14x14 hole in a brand new trucks roof!
I did LOVE the Honda, the price, noise level and reliability take some beating, as well as the weight.
Some quick observations from the first 1750 miles...
The truck is a totally different ride to anything else I have driven over the past 22yrs, very smooth.
Have a rattle from the clutch pedal/linkage under boost, so will have a look at that. Linkage seems tight, but there is some metal to metal rattling going on somewhere.
Ergonomically, a Freightliner takes some beating. Cup holders in the right spot, cubby holes everywhere, and so on. But the quality of this truck is hands down 100 times better than the Shaker. Nothing that cant be sorted with a console type deal from an auto store.
For the money saved, it was more than worth it. End deal was $82k and my old Columbia, for a brand new truck with full factory warranty. It's been sat though, so there will be some stuff to sort out.
Will keep you guys posted though for sure.
    Thanks again

    Martin

    Thanks!
I was reading a few posts from my supposed smart fone when Robert posted the pic of the new ride up, and saw the comments!
For some reason, it takes an act of God to make the "smart" fone post right to the forum, so never replied to a post as it wouldn't have made sense anyways. It did however let me change the tag line no problem....:biggrin_25522:

Well I'm in Tuscaloosa for the night. Found an oil leak near the air compressor so I had beacon wash the motor. Can't find any leaks yet but now I am getting oil in my air system. So it looks like it might be time for a new compressor. When it rains, it pours I tell ya!!!

Want a challenge, pull permits for Tulsa to US-60 at the Missouri state line for a 20' wide. US-169 (gets down to 19' wide in Nowata) to US-60 then north on US-69 to Welch, OK-10 East (a lot of 18' wide) through Miami to OK-137 (goes through Twin Bridges State Park) to US-60.

    Rontonio and SHC Thank this.

I'm sorry to say Martin, you've become used to the A/C in the roof and there's not a single under bunk system that will come even close to what you had before. I have a 24,000 BTU (Claimed) under bunk system and sitting here in Dallas yesterday my sleeper never got below 80 till the sun set. Right next to me is one of our rolling houses with a 144" bunk and he's running a 18,000 BTU roof mounted Coleman unit and in the heat of the day yesterday his bunk was a Balmy 72. If some manufacturer could devise a return air system to pull the heat out of the top of the sleeper it would probably do a lot better but when your drawing the return air next to the floor where it's the coolest anyway (cold air sinks, heat rises) the upper 1/2 of the sleeper just stays hot. Hence the reason roof mounted units work so much better, they are drawing their air from the hottest part of the room, kicking out cold air which sinks to the floor essentially circulating all the air rather than the lower 1/3 to 1/2.

    leftlanetruckin and MJ1657 Thank this.
