No doubt!! ND has the highest fuel cost in the States, where they are pulling million of barrels of the stuff from the ground daily. It's amazing, mystifying, and sometimes terrifying. Proceed with caution. Stay safe.

Cobra... I work for DVT,I think I do ok.i gross usually about 5grand for 2wks,and they pay for housing. Not saying they are the best but not the worst either. They have there issues but what company does'nt. That's only the crude side, water side does not seem to stay as busy as we do.

I was told by a few O/O hauling crude that the sour crude gets shipped to China where they make tires and rubber items, etc... We keep the sweet here for our reserves. and we trade with Canada also. Not sure if that's totally true but Its what I was told by numerous people in the oil field.
I would have a plan B if you work for DVT. They have so many DOT investigations pending for violations with drivers, procedures, accidents, you name it. Go to the DOT safety website and put Deer Valley's DOT number in the box. You will see what I mean. They are going to go down. HARD! I know 4 drivers who are contracted for that S outfit. They run 16 to 18 hours per day trying to make the money. Those are the A holes who are falling asleep behind the wheel and killing people here. I worked for them for a very short period but saw how they operated. I ran from that place and wade fleming who is a lying POS. Driver, be careful. DVT is going down soon. Be safe and have a plan B ready. Good Luck brother....Last edited: Jun 15, 2013

I know for a fact, that some of the oil from north dakota is refined in wyoming, and montana, and shipped by truck back to North dakota as diesel. All pipelines from north dakota terminate in cushing OK. The trains they are loading go to the refineries along the gulf coast. The US suprassed Saudia Arabia as the number 1 producer of crude oil in the world last november. All that drilling requires lots and lots of diesel to be shipped in to keep the trucks, the pumps, and the crews working. There is more demand than local supply of diesel in North Dakota, and that makes the retail price higher than other areas of the country. The free market at work, and the free market is why there are oil rigs drilling in North Dakota.
There is NO shortage of crude oil, but there is massive government regulations driving up the cost of production, shipping and refining all in the name of "green energy." -
There is not so much a shortage of"US" oil as a shortage of us oil that YOUR environmental Nazis will allow to be extracted. While I don't want to see the world suffocate in pollution their religion is that the environment should stay unchanging. That is not the way nature actually works, anymore than animals communicating in English in a Disney movie
