I live in Appleton WI and am looking into switching to flatbed. Roehl has a terminal in town here im just wondering about the home time with the Midwest regional option. From what I read it seems to be home weekly or am I wrong?

Thats the way it was when I was there. Midwest is good because thats where most of there freight originates from, not to mention three terminals and all the drop yds there.
Ryanb24 Thanks this. -
Did you like working there? Iv been driving three years and am a little leary of going with Roehl. The big part is the money there? I love driving but im not marryd to it. I like to be home weekends
-
don't know about roehl. most regional usually means weekend hometime. just be prepared to haul the same friehgt over and over. and probably tarped too.
i worked for 2 companies in the west. and all they hauled was wood, sheetrock, steel and rebar, and cars. with 99% being tarped. -
I liked working there. Decent equipment, you shouldnt have a problem getting home with the new terminal there. You probably will haul a lot of the same freight, tarp pay was 25 when I was there, regional pay was 1 or 2 cents less than otr, but its a pretty decent place to work.

I'd be leary, as well. from what I've gathered in my six years here, predominately in the Roehl forum, is that drivers who already know what they're doing, don't work well with the level of micromanagement that Roehl does.

I never had a problem with that, they always left me alone and let me work!
-
Really depends on fm I've found. Some wont leave you alone, others won't ever answer the phone. Mine leaves me alone, as long as I deliver on time etc...
-
The recruiter said no guarantee weekend home time. Wich Midwest usually is, idk if I wana chance siitting all weekend. Plus the new HOS coming it makes sence to me to be home weekends to reset
-
I rarely reset, if I do it's because I ran a lot first week out, otherwise it's w waste of time. I'd rather drive a couple hundred miles on 5 hours than sit at a truck stop for a day and a half.
