You'd work far less hours and get much better benefits . -
Any person, regardless of age and all that, should be able to drive big trucks. If you really want to do it, go for it!

OTR right now as you know to soon. But given a chance to learn she will be good at it. Roofer-not afraid to work-Paralegal- has a brain. to me she can be good at this. If she had a chance to train 8 hours a day for a couple of weeks she would make it. I wish I could help. It gets to a point when you can tell who has it and those who don't. I think she has it. Lets go back to the original question. Can you learn to drive a clutch, at 57 ? Yes.
Some other things : you're short on cash , Hubby has a problem with finding employment . You can't handle the bills , on you're present income . Is trucking a good way to go? Yes.
Missed the part where you are Ex-military ? If so, Thank You for your service. If you've jumped out of C-130s, you already know you can do whatever you set your mind to.
Paralegal? Pretty sharp. Same with medical billing, etc. Roofer ? OK. Not afraid of labor.
All these qualities in one person, what's holding you back ?
Doesn't make sense .
As to getting your CDL. I darn well know a fear of clutches ain't it.
One poster on this thread mentioned something , if you're for real , that you should check out. Community Colleges . Many offer CDL training. It's cheap. And good.
A woman with a CDL should have No problem finding work. Don't go to work for someone who pays on the 1099, unless you do your homework.
As an O-O, I'll add this . ( I've owned my share of dogs , BTW ) If you're not willing to do what it takes , to do the job, I don't want you. Your dogs come before my business , I don't need you. And, from what you've said , it would seem they do. Please correct me, if I'm wrong.
In short , what are you waiting for?
Of course , it does seem to me an easier way for you, would be to file Bankruptcy . Costs little, most of your bills will go away, there is very little stigma attached to it anymore , and you wouldn't have to jump into yet another line of work, that you might hate , you wouldn't have to worry about your dogs , or your Hubby finding a job. Heck, you could probably keep your present job, he could start over, say, for example, at a fast food joint, and you'd be able , together, to pay your reduced bills. Or, did I miss something again?
In short , this whole thread just doesn't smell legit to me. Sorry. -
