    Thanks CaptainX3
Hey congratulations on the one year anniversary, I thought you were probably being sarcastic but wasn't quite sure. lol ... kind of like all I got was a lousy tee-shirt from where ever. No I think I will really like flatbed but just getting started out in the middle of the summer may make it a little tougher, just kinda wished it was like maybe Oct or Nov when I was starting. lol

I am waiting on the green light from the recruiter to come out to Little Rock. One thing I forgot to ask Caleb is, does Maverick offer vacation time and if so, how does that work?? If any Maverick drivers could give me the answer to this question, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Anxious for the Call!!!

I am a Maverick driver who lives in DFW. I live in the mid-cities part of DFW. I am in the glass division. There are two dedicated spots in Texas; Corsicana and Wichita Falls. I've done dedicated for both and run for them sometimes when a driver is sick or on vacation. Loading glass in the Texas heat is pretty bad but bearable. If you are in glass, you get one day off for every week you run and can take vacation/home-time wherever you want as long as you can get a load going that way. They usually require a 10-day notice. I like staying out for months at a time though because I have my wife with me. I believe you get one paid week of vacation a year. We went to Arkansas for 7 days and got paid for the vacation time. Any more questions, shoot them my way. I have no plans of switching to TCD or Flatbed though.

You get one week's vacation each year, measured from the date you go solo. Vacation pay is $600 for the first 5 years, and then after that it is your previous year's income divided by 52. So if you made $52,000 the previous year, you'll get $1,000 vacation pay. You can take the vacation time off, or send in a macro on the Qualcomm to "cash out" and receive the extra pay without taking the time off.

I remember being told that it's always only one week, it never increases, but that is not from a guaranteed accurate source. Some of the old guys could tell you for sure. And I'm pretty sure Sewerman can tell you how much vacation you get after being here for 100 years. He'll be happy to tell you the old tales of how he delivered steel uphill, both ways, in the snow.

Do you know who his FM is and I'm guessing he's U.S. division. I tend to haul a lot of structure steel and particle board. I actually hauled glass 2 weeks ago out of MI and it was the biggest pain.

Where did you load in MI? Guardian in Carleton? Live-loading glass is a pain in the as* sometimes. I've got the hang of it now and can finish in 2-3 hours if the loaders comply. For the record, Caleb was my recruiter too.

Yea that's exactly where it was and was there for about 4 hours total. Tarping it was the worst. I was outside swearing like a sailor.

Why did you tarp it outside? You could've stayed inside.
