I guess you have no visual way of seeing a drop in boost pressure than. Just use a bottle with soap water and spray all the piping, boots and charge air cooler down with the engine running at high idle. If there is a leak it will show bubbles from the soap water. I did that in arrest area in SD on the truck pictured below. Stopped at the next truck stop and bought two hose clamps to make one big enough to go around the silicon boot and I was back in business.
Good luck in your search. -
Are you getting any codes on dash?? There coudl be couple of reasons but if there is no codes I would check EPG ( exhaust pressure governor)
which is located right behind turbo on the exhaust..there is air line connected to it
EPG is one of the engine brakes on your truck
They tend to get stuck in not fully open/close position and block fumes from flowing and at the same causing braking effect on the engine
Take it out and inspect I would say
Good luck! -
can this scangauge be bought locally? besides advance auto parts. to which i'll have to travel to colorado
i'd like to run one before i hit the road again. thinking i might even try this egr trick on my isx. cuz i'm around 5 right now and getting lower.
gonna throw in an air filter also. and go from there. -
If you go to the linear logic website (scangauge manufacturer) they have a locations page to show where the retail stores are who carry it. I thought long and hard about ordering it from eBay, but I'm really glad I did. The seller is an authorized distributor so you get the warranty and everything, plus he's cheaper than a retail outlet. For $159 you get the scan gauge D, express shipped for free... his feedback on enay showed a lot of buyers talking about how fast the UPS shipping was, but I wasn't a believer until mine came 2 days early. I ordered it on Sunday night, it shipped on Monday, and arrived on Wednesday. It ships from Nevada, so you'd probably get it in two days there in Utah.
Once you get it, you can query the device for PID codes which you email to the manufacturer, and they email you back with specific unlock codes to provide more gauges. I got like 25 additional gauges from doing it for my CM870 ISX.snowwy Thanks this. -
my ecm is password protected i'm sure. i might not have access to those PID codes.
been doing a google search. seeing a lot of people buying theres from camper world. and luckily there's one out here. autozone is the other option but they only sell the obd2.
otherwise i'm going out of state.
thanks for the tip. -
If youre egr is not throwing a code its probably nothing worng with it check youre diagnostics for either mid 128 sid 146 or mid 128 sid 266. It might most likely be a bosst leak making the problem have youre boost system checked the. You can go from there

I'm getting a code, so I plan to change them I also plan on getting my ECM reprogrammed & they say they can turn off my EGR valves so the computer won't read them!
