LOL NewNashGuy...you watch to many movies. You have been a trucker to year n you are still wet behind the ears. I LIVE in Canada and it is NOTHING like you describe, unless you think every scale, security guard and warehouse is the same in a country almost as big as yours. Most of the scales are open 12 hrs a day, some warehouses are tight, but MOST have lotsa space, and in my 14 years driving here I have never seen armed guards unless its a Brinks truck fillin up a cash machine. The only thing to watch out for is the moose on the highways, especially out east, and they are right about our customs officers not foolin around with guns or big knives. You can plan to get refused or spend a day or 2 at the border if they catch ya with those lil goodies in yer truck. Other then that, you will love it here, its nice, not crowded, and alot of great scenery. Ya gotta learn when the appropriate time to say 'eh' is also, otherwise we will know yer a foreigner...hahaha

Most companys pay to cross the border, when I was at Roehl it was $50 and ATS was $100 and 5cpm on all miles traveled in Canada.

How about truck stops/parking. Is it few far between, or is it just about like the states?

Not too sure the location there hauling to but have seen a fair amount of pumpkin patch trucks in Sudbury lately. Might be drivers from the southern ontario terminal though. If coming from the states it would be a decent run up here.
