E.W. Wylie has it all!!

Hello fellow drivers.
My name is Mike. I have 10+ years driving experience and have been around trucks my whole life.
I have worked for several trucking companies and have been in the biz. long enough to know that they are all about the same.
The best company that I have ever worked for was EW Wylie corp. out of West Fargo ND.
Pound for pound they had everything that a driver could ask for in a driving career.
great equip, great hometime and great management..
I drove for them for 3 years and have not one single complaint to offer.
I regretfully had to resign my position there due to changing situations at home. Otherwise I would be hauling freight right now..
I NEVER sat longer than 8 hours waiting for a load... average 2800 miles per week and very few breakdowns due to new updated equipment..
Like I said, all trucking outfits are the same. trucking is trucking... it has its good and bad, @ EW Wylie driver retainage is important so they want you to stay working there.
With that being said, when you do have a complaint they will do whatever it takes to solve the problem and keep the driver happy.
Anyone considering an OTR job should give them a call. They will fly you to orientation and put you in a first class hotel (Kelly inn)..
Just to give you an idea of how much they care for drivers. When I resigned I brought my truck to the terminal in Fargo ND and they flew me home to Alabama. Most places would put you on a bus or simply tell you your on your own.. That says alot right there...

As long as you keep pissing and moaning to a minimum... you can stay out as long as you wish.. You will earn a day and a half for every 7 days out..I did 14 days out and 3 and a half days home sometimes up to 5 days. And they work with you on special hometime needs..

Oh an to answer ur question.. u are expected to run at least 7-10 days.

I see. Well, I may be preaching to the band here but.... One cant expect to get home or whatever EVERY single time in ANY trucking job.. or most of them.
Trucking is what it is. We cant expect the industry to change just to fit our needs... For instance, if a person has a situation where they have to b somewhere each and every weekend no matter what then OTR trucking is not gonna be the job that person needs..
That does not make a company a bad company to work for. If one expects to be able to get home EVRY SINGLE time he needs to then that person is expecting more than the industry can give.
There are certain things that simply come with the job.
A local, day cab position that has u home every night would be more suiting.
Im just sayin.
If u have found an outfit that can just hit a keyboard and up pops a load that gets the driver wher3ver he or she needs to be at your conveinience then my advice is to stay there forever and never let them down.
Cause you will be waking up soon and the dream will be over and it is back to the reality that is OTR truck driving.
It is what it is..... not for everybody. take care now and good luck.

 

Thats good news.. Glad to hear that you found your niche.
Turnover has been and will continue to be problematic.. More than ever due to the changes (CSA) in regulations. Companies are now changing policy to give the drivers as much as can be given in order to retain employees.. There will be more changes in the future and I look forward to it with quite a bit of zeal because , like you said "
More companies need to put the drivers life higher in importance. It would keep their turn-over a lot lower."

Us drivers ought to be better treated in this industry not to mention be paid more.... Hell Mn, With technology the way it is these days, the broker could all but be eliminated because WE CAN DO THAT OURSELVES FROM THE CAB OF THE TRUCK!!!! all we need is a phone and a laptop!! Why should some broker get %30 of a loads revenue when Tom the trucker could just do it himself...?
