City driving gets pretty crazy most days, but I'll take having to back in off the street through traffic multiple times a day, if it means I have my Monday through Friday schedule and driving days
-
Peddling around NYC will do that to you. I don't miss it around NYC, Westchester and Fairfield. I enjoy line-haul a lot. I work Sunday-Thursday nights. I prefer nights as during the day the north east is a zoo to drive in most places. Also the Gf works over nights and about 85% of my friends work nights as well, so on a day off meeting at 3-4am is a normal thing for all of us. Granted it won't be like that forever especially as we all get older but as of now it's great for meCenutryClass Thanks this.

yep didnt know that had different pay. i know they have the same benifets
-
UPSF is lower pay. I believe your right that the benefits are the same though, but I don't know a 100%
-
I've been there in my car and couldn't stand it then! Heck I can't stand SF period. My hats is off to you too!
-
Your buddy is a liar time for you to start looking for a new buddy lol $31 an hour and if this was true your buddy should have been in a waiting list until Mr super trucker get retired to get that position. They are millions miles accident free, clean record and background don't you think this position would have been full with these guys.

So many rumors and misconceptions about UPS Freight.
We are still an LTL company, some operations are different, some are still the same.
Im a Senior driver, so im happy with the job. Go further down the seniority list, and some are not so happy. But there hasn't been an LTL company I've worked at that didnt have it that way.
I think the money is great on the freight side, parcel employees make very good money because small pack is a huge money maker. Not using Reflective vests, horns while backing and at terminal crosswalks, seatbelts in yard whenever the truck is moving (hooking sets included) are all write up(able).
It's all worth putting up with, IMO.road_runner Thanks this. -
Different pay scale, different benefits. And even 4 or 5 UPSF terminals are still non-union and they are certainly not included in the benefit package as the parcel men.
-
Which 4 or 5 terminals are you talking about? Just curious.
