    At Central Freight Lines

They Ask for at least One year of Tractor-Trailer Experience. I don,t know how much experience you have but if it is less than a year you should try out FedEx Freight or Conway Freight. These two companies have a program where they will train you to become a local driver.

Central has been around for 50 plus years. I guess you are talking about terminal on 820E in FTW. They are a good company. Used to work for their main competitor Merchants Fast Motor many moons ago. Used to be only intrastate but are interstate for many years now. You may have to work a dock job to get your foot in the door. Than they will usually have you run swaps out to shippers. They also have a huge terminal in DlS nest to TX Stadium. Good luck to you.:biggrin_25519:

Thank everyone for replying as a result I will try Central and FedEx. I almost went with CRST but fortunately I discovered this site and opted out of the agreement.

For those of you who are considering CRST please reconcider and if you have signed their pre-employment agreement then you can opt out also see item 13 of the agreement. Item 13 state " the student may opt out of the agreement at anytime". Word of causion opt out before you finish your driving course. That way your school should not send your paper work to CRST.

All of this should be done with your school in the know. Again you may wish to consult a lawyer!

Get and keep a copy of your contract at the time your sign it!

Be careful with any idea of employment at Central Freight Lines. If you're going in as a company driver, then ok.But to go in as a lease operator, beware.Freight is never guaranteed, and your tractor payments and insurance will have to be paid regardless.Plus, there's been a lot of good management retiring or leaving the company at this time.So be fore warned.

CRST is a joint venture between cr england and swift.I am told cr england holds swift truckings charter.central freight lines is owned by jerry moyes, the owner of swift.central refrigeration is owned by jerry moyes, too. It was a start up company that changed names when jerry bought out dick simon trucking.i drove for central freight lines for 11 years in phoenix,az.I loved the people i worked with, and quiting there and moving to california was the biggest mistake of my life.I did LTL there, and made good money as a a local, hourly driver.I am going to renew my hazmat, and keep the idea of re-applying as one of my job options.
