You can't drop your trailer unless you have authorization from melton, and it has to be a secured yard, plus written authorization from the property holder giving you permission. Most drivers leave truck&trailer in a truck stop. A lot have land where they can park. Being in Missouri, do you have any? Could be yours, family, friend, etc. I park my truck In my drive way and drop trailer at a drop yard.

I have said this before - once you get out here and start working you will see people doing the same thing as you that have been doing it a lot longer - doing a horrible job and you will say to yourself " what was I worried about ? " this guy/girl is has been doing it a long time and I can already flatbed better than them. -
Yeah....Cannon thinks he can do it better than me...
yeah right. hehe -
Sigh. I had to bump back 2 weeks. My mom had a minor heart attack and she's the one taking care of my son so I've got to wait for her to get back on her feet. I swear if it weren't for bad luck I wouldn't have any. Needless to say, Melton isn't happy with me at the moment.

In defense of Melton, I know for a fact if she was already an employee of Melton truck lines and this situation occurred, the owner would more than likely fly her home. They do take care of their peeps. The Melton company has strong family values. I've been here for a little more than a month and they are very serious about situations like that. Just thought I should step up. I read Starr's thread earlier this morning. So I'm putting my input. Hope all go's well with your mom

After retiring from the Navy a few months back I started driving for May. Vans and reefer are very boring. Got a pre hire with Melton Ans go to Orientation. July 15 in Tulsa. After reading g this forum definitely made my decision easy thanks to some.of the post. Looking forward to flatbeding. Sitting in a truck al.day and never doing physical work was to much.
