oh yes....as a new driver, you have to stay slow. Don't let the truck speed capability weigh on your decision. I recommend Prime, only because they have a longer training program. I ran with a trainer for two weeks, and believe me, I wish I had gotten more. You will make your own mistakes in the beginning....but more time with a GOOD trainer is to your advantage. Are you interested in flatbed, van, or tanks?

I am looking into all three. Not really sure now. I hope to get home on a regular basis after training. Willing to work a year to earn the free CDL then who knows. I've heard tanks pay the most then flatbed and vans last but the easiest of the three. Prime will pay $600 week to train then .41 mile to start plus bonus.

Exactly! Same happens to me every day LOL. And they are burnin' fuel at a higher rate so their mpg numbers have got to be in the crapper. I don't stop much at all once I get rolling, and end up at the same places that those guys who go flying by 3-4 times along the way. You would think that they would get a clue.....

I been kind of doing research on trucking off and on the last few years. One thing that I see as comon is the bad talk of CR Englund and seen many youtube vids to prove it. But seen a few that seem to think its okay while in training. But this one I have to think this guy is full of BS as he says CR is the greatest or one of the greatest to work for and he is a trainer so he probable spills that BS onto his tranees. Don't know how old the vid is but he claimed to have made 70k the prevous year working for CR Englund. Well here is the link to this guys BS vid on CR. http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=doCHhuABv1o I know if I decide to get into trucking to stay away from this compnay for sure. It has to one of if not the worst of the botom feeders I know al the companys for new drivers are bad but this one is always on the top of the list for being the worst to go to.

Well with training and recruiting bonuses he probably did make that. But the average driver at CRE? not a chance.

Swift has always been fair to me. Got my CDL through their program, am currently getting my tuition payed back as a bonus. Starting my third year now.

Are there any companies you can go through their DCL school and work 4/4 or 7/7? I know about Roehl but wondered about others.
