I highly doubt you will get in drop 5 pallets and out in thirty min.... ill bet you end up at least an hour or more. Explain to them if you can get in and out in 30 min then 75 bucks if its over 30 min its 100 bucks, and if it over an hour 150 bucks and get/put it in writing....

I can tell you what L/S Charges.I have a multi-drop load i do for an agents customer...She gives me 500.00 NY Arbitrary 100% to me...She gives me 75.00 per stop after the 1st stop.I get 100% lumper fee. This is usually 150-200 bucks.

If we are talking about ''company drivers'' i would say first drop is ''Free''.Each stop after that is 35.00 a stop.Any handling goes 100% to driver or lumper. To a company driver this is ''fair''...Again this is IMO.

If i were to charge a customer i would want this in writing before i haul one load.

Is it normal for companies to take a percentage off the top of accessorial pay like stopoffs from their contractors? Some do and some don't?

I would keep it in the $75-$100 range per stop to remain competitive. One thing you want to keep an eye on is what times the receiver will allow you to unload. Some stores are pretty cool, others have restrictions, others the town that the store is in has restrictions. Noticed Lowe's and HD stores in certain towns have certain times they are not allowed to unload. If all of your stops are at the end of the 1000 mile run then no problem but you come across one that is 300 miles into your run with time restrictions then all of a sudden you added another day to the overall run.

Rollin - I would normally give a driver a good percentage of the stop pay but usually not all of it. Just as a driver who decided to lump a load himself and keep the $200 comchek for himself. I never got a call saying, hey, I made $200 extra bucks by lumping the load off myself with the receivers electric pallet jack, how about I give you $50. It all depends on the amount of work involved too but I always try to be fair about it.

And I don't need to brag about how many trucks I'm running. I know what I need to charge for stop off pay.

    Whatever.
Your handle says alot about you and your rude comments and name calling says alot about your life.
You don't know anything about me or my trucks or my education, yet you want to speak for everyone in general, call names, and be judgemental about me.
I kinda feel sorry for one's like yourself.
