I guess I'll throw in my 2 cents here. Schneider policy is nothing that can't be used from a cigarette lighter, and I believe you can plug in a 300watt inverter to the cigarette lighter, but u can only get like 180 watts out of it, or else you'll blow the fuse. I'm too lazy to do the math, but whatever. I can see their reasoning because people will wire them incorrectly, or leave them on all night and kill the batteries.
me personally, I have a 1000 watt inverter. I took 2 gauge jumper cables, cut them just long enough to reach the batteries from behind the backseat, and just have it clipped to the batteries (cascadia has the batteries under the drivers door). The door closes on the cord no problem. I run a 600 watt microwave (brandsmart carries it), a small shark hand held vac, and an all in one printer/scanner/copier when needed. I have a small cigarette lighter inverter for my laptop. I only turn it on when I'm using something, otherwise it's off. When I go home, or to an OC, I simply unclip the ends from the battery, and put it in a small bag I have.

Yes, unfortunately i am a schneider driver, lol. Only the cable is closed on the door. Which is fine, because even tho it's a really thick two gauge, the weather stripping is even thicker, doesn't even leave any marks on it, so no risk of it cutting the cable. I've had it for about 6 months.

I work at USX. Our company allows invertors up to 1500 watts. USX just requires that their shop install it. Cost to driver $0. We have a fridge, microwave, etc. Schneider is a good company but not having a invertor makes things hard on the road. We save a lot of money not eating out.
Wanting an invertor isn't about playing Xbox.....its about not living like a caveman to make a few dollars. We drivers give up so much on the road. Away from family & a good meal. Working 14 hour days for several weeks. Being able to eat a warm meal when your waiting at a shipper for a long time can make the day a little bit brighter
We're currently at a UPS yard near San Francisco. Supposed to be a drop and hook. We got here 30 mins early only to be told that its not ready. Parked across the street for 2 hours now waiting. Sucks but its okay. Cooking eggs, oatmeal, sausage, cup of coffee for her and a cup of oj for me. Life is good.Last edited: Jun 24, 2013

Personally I say if it works go with it. Most people wouldn't care anyway.
