Hi all I am new to the driving part of trucking. Graduated driving school from IITR Clackamas, OR. in Feb 2012 took a local job as service writer/pick up and delivery driver for a private repair shop that failed and closed the doors. I have two speeding tickets last year in my private vehicle and having trouble finding a driving job any advise would be appreciated.

Doesnt matter what you were driving. Its on your CDL. Sorry, but thats not good. Have better luck when they start falling off. But, NEVER give up on trying. Some give you up to 3 tickets in 3 years. Be safe out there drivers.

slow down,it ain't nascar.good luck.if you do get a job remember that the cdl is your moneymaker and never let anyone "push" you into losing it.

I'm sure you will be able to find someone to hire you. Its not going to be easy though. I had nine points on my license and still was able to find a driving job, so it not totally out of the question. What you have going against you is that you have a bad driving record and you're also a new driver.
At the absolute worst you will have to wait three years until after your last ticket and once your tickets fall off you will most likely have to take a refresher course because of the length of time in between that you weren't driving. Refresher courses aren't cheap either. -
Try these companies with online application; sometimes they bend their own hiring rules if they think you may be an asset to the company. Apply to all & see what happens.
Paschall Truck Lines
Carolina Cargo
Buel Inc.

you can also try some of the training companies such as Swift, C.R England and I think knight does training too?
Those companies sometimes will look past SOME stuff and train you further, you might have to leave local and accept regional and OTR though -
It's going to be hard to find work because it's an insurance thing. Most carriers wont hire you if your speeding ticket was for a speed of 14-15 mph or more over posted. Theyre insurance wont cover you so they wont hire you. And you have to be careful, a speeding ticket in your personal vehicle 14-15 and over, you can lose your job for the same reason, Insurance wont cover you.

Since I got my CDL i have driven much more careful in my personal vehicles, I try not to speed at all, plus I got so used to going the dreaded 62 my company governs at, when I get in my car I catch myself only going around 60 lol
