You want it bad enough- so I KNOW you can do this! I remember how I felt when I was going through all of that. I had good days that left me feeling confident- and I had horrible days that made me wonder if I would ever be able to get it right. It was so overwhelming, exhilerating, scary, fun, stressful, and amazing. Keep plugging away at it. What you are feeling is absolutely normal- and it will be over before you know it. Hang in there, and let us know how it goes! (Cheering Loudly.....) Good luck!!!!

If you're working on your bachelors then you have nothing to worry about. Its not rocket science. If you have any kind of mechanical background and common sense you could probably pass it without opening a book or studying before hand. There are plenty of practice tests on the web. If you do ok on those you'll do fine on the real one.

The Hazmat is a little tougher. You definitely need to study for that one. However hazmat isn't necessary for you to get your license and is optional later.

The airbrakes portion of the test will probably be the most difficult of the test.

    Good luck man...

I have no mechanical ability, it's embarrassing and I think that's the reason I'm getting confused. The airbrakes questions are tripping me up but If I study enough I'll get it, I hope lol.

Just an update I passed the permit, had to retake the combinations though. I went to lunch, re-read the sections for about an hour and passed the rest with no problems. Glad to have that done.

You will probably be anxious thru the whole process...so now look at the info on youtube for pretrip inspections. Without being

mechanically inclined this will be your next big hurdle, again just believe in your self and use your

study habits that have gotten you this far. Congrats to you!:biggrin_25514:

When I took my air brakes, comb, and general knowledge tests at the DMV, I pictured myself looking at, and being in this vehicle before and during the trip. I you place yourself into the situation, break down the manual into sections, and study intermittently, throughout different times of the day, you can pretty much walk through the test. I did take practice tests prior to the actual test, and missed one question on the general knowledge, where there were two suitable answers. The concepts involved in psychology are far more intricate than the learning processes involved with this part of the CDL journey. Our journey has just begun, the best part is yet to come. Many safe miles to you southernmade:)

The key to passing the test is to memorize the numbers (stopping distance, axle weight, oil pressure, psi, etc) Also the online cdl tests help but in my county the real test was a lot more specific.

    First and foremost - RELAX.

These tests are too easy and if you fail, then try again.
