Home Depot ded out of Huron ohio

I don't know about that Home Depot account, but the Home Depot account out of Allentown, PA was about 80% daycab and 20% sleeper. JB uses freightliner and international trucks, governed at 63 mph, no apu, but can idle as needed. Sometimes you take a load to just 1 store and drop and hook and head back to DC for another load or you take multiple store load and wait for them to unload at store, usually takes about 1 hr or so. Most of the time you just take empty back to DC but sometimes you pickup backhauls. Home Depot paid really well when I was there back in 2009-2010, starting pay then was $.57 per mile.

 

I worked for the HD ded in Monroe, OH running regional. They usually gave me a load out w/1 or 2 stops on it, then go to shipper for a backhaul. They'd tell me before I left where my backhaul was. If there isn't anything available, you just head back, but call them from the last stop first. A couple of times they had me come back empty, but called me on the way and redirected me for my backhaul. If they do tell you to wait, it's probably cuz they're checking with HD to see if the backhaul is ready. Those office people have way too many hoops to go through with how HD operates. HD seemed to be the problem. They don't have the smoothest communications, which just leads to delays for the drivers.Not a bad gig, but make sure you live real close to the DC. If you don't, you'll burn up a lot of time just getting there every Sunday night/Monday morning.
