word of advice to you or anyone else looking into this company, do NOT do it if you're out here to make money and provide for a family. When the son Bob was running the show it was great but now that the daughter has taken over I'm not sure what is jumping ship faster-drivers (expected, most think the grass is always greener) office employees, or freight contracts. Last week alone the manager over the planners walked out which I believe left 1 planner, another customer service person also left last week which I think leaves 1. We once had over 300 fellow drivers out here last tally I've heard was we're well UNDER 200, and 1 would think that the remaining drivers still employed would be busier than a 1 armed bandit and is NOT the case due to freight loss. Used to run broker loads for the big boys, even they don't want anything to do with Baylor anymore. Most of what you have read about the daughter Cari that's now running the show is probably true, yes she screams and hollers at everyone an did in fact get into an altercation with a safety director that caused to a lawsuit which I'd heard Daddy settled it out of court to save her ###, but yet she's all about "God Bless" etc. which doesn't seem very Christian to me as she proclaims to be, she talks a good game in pretending to want to know what's going on when in fact could care less, just a front to keep the newbies that don't know any better. Personally I don't know how she can go to sleep at night knowing that she's tearing apart her grandfather/father's business brick by brick, it's sad, talk to any driver out here that has been with them longer than the 6-8 month period where they're still the shiny new penny sinking the hook into em' an I'm sure they can/will tell you the same. Sure the pay,ins,etc isn't bad but when you can only get enough miles to be just above broke what's it worth? The "NO BAD WEEKS AT BAYLOR $1K GUARANTEE" is a recruiting gimmick for rookies that don't know any better, they find ways to say why a driver didn't get it and make the stipulations for such an impossibility to get every week. Any company that offers such should be a red flag to any experienced driver, if they'd run you ya wouldn't need such crap. Also know that they're safety rating is in the toilet and expect to be pulled around back at scales for random inspections where you will be told they pulled you in due to said score rating, I never worried about this as I was always legal, but it is a time consuming loss. If after all this you're still interested another word of advice is absolutely do NOT join the "Retirement Savings" plan that they will match but it doesn't earn you any money and if a hardship comes along you will never see, know of 5/6 employees fighting to get they're money, 1 of which was terminated back in Jan/Feb of this year, anyone who knows anything knows this is illegal because of state and federal guidelines and what they also don't tell anybody is they put you're money into an "investment only" account with Nationwide Retirement Services strictly in Baylor's name as they're making money off of us in investments, sadly I could go on and on, but hopefully this is enough to make anyone due some serious investigations into them before taking employment, like I said catch a driver that's been here longer than 6 months if you can catch 1 with a radio on, at one point I was proud to say I was employed here....now it's an embarrassment....an before anyone does/says "oh must be another disgruntled employee" NO, although I'd have more than a fair share to be, life is short and time to move on before the ship has sunk, I'm just trying to save any fellow drivers from losing his/her ### more than what I an most everyone else has. Oh, an they've run off everyone in safety, when I 1st started there was 6 people in the safety office including the director (haven't had a safety director for quite awhile) they're currently down to 1 and last I knew she was ready to walk out the door and actively looking also.

Don't know anything for sure, but Id be willing to bet that this is the truth.

It's all true, like I said look up the company stats an that should explain it all, just a truly sad situation all the way around, hence why I posted the reply it's hard enough out here in the industry these days

Wow... I worked for baylor back in 06... started out good and got on this pepsi dedicated run... just ohio, Indiana, illinois aand Kentucky. Out most of week maybe slide thur during for the nite and home weekend.. lasted a few months then they told me I could be home every day.. runnin a yard dog close to where I live.. hourly pay and day shift. . Worked good fod awhile then they got this used us xpress day cab for me to do a few outta town runs. Hired Antoher guy and we swapped between yard dog n driving.. I drew line when they repeatedly wanted me to spend the nite in a day cab truck.. good while it lasted that point in my life.. heard lil horror stories here n there.. I wouldn't work for them again.

I wish admin would remove this thread if Baylor is no longer a good place to work. I just wasted my time reading here for almost ten minutes only to find out it's a bad place to work. lol
