How did your room mate steal your razor? Do you have pictures, film, or eye witness? Was it secured, such as locked away? Whether you wish to believe it or not, It is your responsibility to safeguard your personal belongings. I am not condoning the thieft, but you need proof that he personally stole it. Without proof, other then its gone and he shared the room with you, there is nothing that can be done. In my opinion this is a failure to take due responsibility and secure your personal effects. Learn by your mistakes.

Some of this is just flat out false. Not saying I know everything, but I do want to clear up the inaccuracies here.

First of all, if you sign on to drive local, regional, OTR, etc. that's what you run. Period. You'll probably be asked from time to time to run a short run, get a trailer loaded and bring it back to the yard or to a dropyard, etc. but it isn't a full time thing. You may even do a few short runs in a row or get multiple trailers loaded and drop them on a yard somewhere. Again, not a full time thing. Help out your dispatcher and he'll reward you for it. Secondly, the trucks are governed at 64 and no one in orientation tells you otherwise. You'll probably hear differently from other drivers, but if you believe everything truck drivers tell you, then you probably believe in the tooth fairy and the easter bunny too. Thirdly, the route for all your loads is given to you by the GPS that's on the qualcomm, which also has all of SRT's fuel stops programmed into it. It's not perfect. You have to use common sense, which I know isn't common at all at SRT. Dispatchers are in the office from 8-5. In case you didn't know, lease trucks are NOT company trucks and are not driven by company drivers. Therefore, the driver who owns the truck or is leasing the truck from the company is responsible for fuel and upkeep. That's the way that works with any company. If you quit and return the truck to Texarkana when you're instructed to bring it back and give them back all the stuff they told you in orientation they would charge you for if you didn't bring it back, you're good to go. They give bus tickets to people who go through orientation and end up not getting hired, and they do the same for drivers who quit. And finally, how are they supposed to load your final paycheck on your comdata card when they turn off your card and delete it from the system when you quit? Every company I ever worked for either put my final check in the bank through direct deposit, or they mailed me a check. I don't know about what they do after you leave the company because I still work for them. The part about giving bad references may be true, then again they might just be giving you bad references for something you're not telling us about. No company is perfect, no company is even close to being perfect, and SRT is probably not one of the better companies. But for anybody considering going to work for this company, all I can say is don't believe everything you hear and read.

Yes i do agree with you,i worked with them for 4 months. In my orientation class we lost over half of the class before they gave out trucks and if the truck was very dirty well that's your truck. I quit and while I was working I recorded all the phone calls and took pics of qualcom messages, and turn everything over to USDOT. This company will lie about everything, stay away. they also put bad ref. on DAC/Hireright.

Read that article a few days ago. SRT should be ashamed as human beings. Can't remember hearing of any company ever doing that before. As bad as some of the big companies are out there leave to a smaller company to do that. Anyone that works for SRT needs to read this story and be aware of just how horrible of a company they work for.

Now in my case with Southern Refrigerated Transport the recruiter never said one word of any 90 day mandatory per diem with a reduced pay of .03cpm These guy's tried to con me and say oh! you will make up the difference in taxes. Bull Hockey!! In reality I lost .03cpm an average of $75.00 per week. :stop: and think b4 you go to this company!!!!
