    Excess water on brake shoes can cause noise as the water washes away brake dust and alters the transfer of heat to the drums. Could be a wet fan belt too.

    A lot of guys keep saying to measure the hub temperature with a temp gun. By the way what is the normal temperature?

    Record your temps for about 5 days without any failures, average them out, and that is your normal.

    You would see a difference from one to the other would be my guess? Fronts run about 90 deg and rears run same as diff temp around 110 to 120 after a long drive.

    I would say a variance would be normal. Different bearing sets, different end play, lube levels, quality and so on. I would expect to feel it warm to slightly hot. Something I can comfortably hold and leave my hand on it without a burning feel or discomfort.

    That is low to me. Mine run about 160-180. Although I need to repair the rear temp sensor, only the front one works.

    I'm guessing all rears are different but curious what others see for temps.
