Oh by the way that old 7400 white brings back memories. Mine had the super 250 -
I don't think there's a rule against it. I've seen several members post up brokers who are very slow or even no pays. I belive at it's core that is what truckersreport is, see the company DAC reports... The word needs to get out on crooks so the rest of us whenever we see their freight, just completely dismiss it out of hand.

This new bond is a travesty. Come on drivers, time to stop sitting on your heads and start thinking with it.
WHY ARE SO MANY DRIVERS THAT CLAIM TO BE BUSINESS PEOPLE SO EXCITED ABOUT MORE GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION?Big Jay and terrylamar Thank this. -

So other than just "sticking it to the brokers" and feeling good about that what exactly does a $75K bond increase accomplish?

I wonder why they decided to just cast a blanket law that affects all brokers equally. The income tax system is tiered, why can't this be? Why can't the bond be based off a % of prior years' gross revenue? This way, the large brokerages will be putting up what they should. They do $10mil in revenue, put up a bond of say 5%. That's $500k. The small broker that does $100k in revenue, put up $5k.
I'm sure the large brokerages won't have any trouble coming up with that amount, but at least it is there. I'm sure companies like TQL have their bond filed on 10x over in the course of a year. Now if they had to pony up more, and more of their money is at stake, maybe they'd be a bit more careful about non-payment and coming up with trivial reasons for non-payment, etc. A $10k bond on a large company like that is just about pointless. On a smaller brokerage, it might mean something.
Oh and to expand on Bill's post about more Gov't regulations, there are some regulations that are needed, I think we can all agree on at least that, but ones that hurt small biz in favor of large biz , whether intentional or not (and often times I believe it is the former rather than the latter), is what is really hurting this country. If they want to make regulations that affect the large ones much more than the small ones, I might go along with that, because I think small business is much more important that large corporations. I might go along with, say, mandatory EOBRs for companies that have more than 50 trucks, but not for ones at or less than that.BigBadBill Thanks this.
