If you can't manage to get a job as a company driver, HOW ARE YOU GOING TO BE AN OWNER OPERATOR?!?
How long was your training course? In all seriousness, I already see you disputing this, but the fact is, you don't know how to drive yet. The reason this industry has the mega carrier starter companies is because driving school teaches you how to pass a road test, then you find a company that actually teaches you how to drive. Are you going to be an O/O and train yourself..? Did your school even teach you about fuel taxes? Do you understand that being an O/O is running your own business and you're going to have to be your own accountant, while running like crazy to actually pay for a truck? A truck that your probably going to beat to hell and have it in the shop quite a bit if you don't crash it. Trucks are big overhead, lol.

Not to bash you but there are a lot of jobs out there, it all depends on you and your willingness to pay your dues. I would do this, get a list of companies compiled by taking a ride to a truck stop, getting those little books and job rags, taking some time on this thing they call the internet and add to the list and also by asking here. Then I would start at the top of the list and start calling the companies. You may get a few maybes out of a 100 but you're sitting around now and it would be prudent to take some action other than thinking that you can become an O/O when you have no experience and may not get even get funding to buy the truck. The one thing you are missing that an O/O either has to run under a lease or with their own authority, the former will be the same if not harder with no experience because a carrier doesn't want someone with zero experience and running under your own authority, your bobtail insurance is only one little problem, you will have to come up with cargo insurance and it may increase with one claim.
