    I've been reading some crappy stuff on Taylor but I'm supposed to be getting Flatbed division and I've heard they've upggraded their trucks. I've been driving for 23 plus years but most recently local...therefore a lot of OTR companies want experience within the last 3 years. As well I wanted a no wait rider program which these guys have. Can anyone CURRENTLY driving for them respond to this and help me out? I'm supposed to start orientation in a few weeks and hit the road. HELP!

    Well we'll keep you posted...I've talked to office people there all day Friday as well as the company owner's wife via facebook so time will tell !

    Do yourself a favor and stay away. Even if you got a new truck every week this place is a ****hole. They have around 300 trucks and have 2 orientations a week with 5 to 6 drivers that should tell you something. Everything you've read here is true. Worst company I ever was with in over 25 yrs of trucking.

    I have been at Taylor for around a month in the padwrap division and I have not had any issues yet. In fact my drug screen got held up due to allergy meds and they not only offered to send me home or I could have stayed and wait for it to clear. I chose to go home since I had visitation with my youngest that weekend, they paid for me to go home and to get to a truck in Portland as well as had a load for me BEFORE I even got to Nashville.:yes2557: As to orientation they only have one a week right now and atleast two or three out of the five or six don't make it. They either fail physical,drug screen or road test. Some leave on thier own because they don't want to actually do thier job and check the equipment" That is the shops job ", don't want to do any thinking about how they run or just plain can't work on thier own. Every run I have had I was not told you run our way,instead I go the best route for fuel and parking. The truck I was assigned is 7 years old however it is in great shape. It needed some work when I got it nothing that couldn't wait till B service just a couple of small oil leaks,they not only fixed those but fixed the temp sensor that I didn't even write up. I will try keep some updates as I get more time in. So far so good but eafh company is only as good as you make it.:biggrin_25525:

    What's your definition of good condition? My truck went through the shop 3 times before they fixed the ac. It was only 5 years old had wore out king pins bald drives never been washed was full of urine bottles when I picked it up in Portland all the shocks were rusted out air leaked of within 10 to 15 minutes after shut down hood wouldn't open because latches were rusty (Volvo) my truck was actually one of the better ones 90% of the fleet is wore out filthy junk. Load planners and dispatchers spend more time outside smoking and gossiping than working. Shop only fixed 1 or 2 things on a list of 20 or more maybe their hands were tied by been counters. No all the bad stuff on here is true doesn't have anything to do with my work ethic.The operations personel are like trying to work for teenagers inmature and more concerned with drama. No Mr. Taylor has no respect for drivers he's been quoted as saying he could pay .20 cpm and he still could get drivers after cutting drivers pay when he took over from his father. Mr Taylor's father spent decades building this company and it's reputation. Now the only thing Mr. Taylor cares about is squeezing every last penny out of it before he retires no matter if destroys the companies reputation or how he treats employees or customers. Anybody who wants the cold hard truth the posts on this forum are quite right. Wildcat2 I would wager you'll be gone in less than a year.

    Well. Never late.... Your gunna say I told u so. I tried to defend them but enough was enough. I've been gone a month now. I was laid off all of July... Get called back in, I was out almost 2 months and made 3 runs. I couldn't take the lying and bs anymore.. You saw the truck I had your self. After layoffs the put me in a twin to that truck, I sat in tx for 2 weeks on repairs. Their going under as we speak. All operations are moving to Kansas City. Other than the shops.. Their under tough times..

    Sorry to hear that truckdriver-mn. I won't say I told you so I want to be more respectful than that you're a decent guy. I know you have a family to take care of and you've had some bad luck. Maybe we can help someone else avoid the headaches there. With your special skills you should be able to find a good gig. Good luck to you.

    I dunno about what I'm seeing here about the pay cuts. I recently got an email from one of their recruiters, and looked at the website. They start at .43 cpm plus a variety of accessorial pays. That makes me wonder about the people posting.
